You just noticed that? Wow, I thought the multiple tributes to CANADA DAY was a good clue.

Well, certainly not from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, but Williams St. cranks out the funny.

American Humor, overall, seems to fall into two categories: Reference Humor and Potty Humor. Yeah, there are exceptions, but those are the overwhelming kinds of humor. Much like British Humor is largely Absurdist Humor.

Duel ownership? He was born in America. He was raised in America. He currently LIVES in America.

How does this give Canada any claim to him whatsoever?

The man they call Jayne!

Considering the staggering number of people I meet each year off the crusie ships who seem convinced Alaska isn't the 49th state, maybe I can be Canadian?

True. At least you got that right. I've had three people tell me that Edison was Canadian, which I suspect was because they heard the lightbulb story, and then connected Edison with the invention. Woodward made a kind of light-up rod, and Edison perfected the invention and made it an easily recreatible bulb.

For the record, regarding the Tribute To Canada from season 1 (I had a LRR DVD marathon yesterday to get my mind off my ass-hat boss. Good stuff.), and the pacemaker was invented in Australia by Dr Mark C Lidwell, and Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland, and lived in America when he invented the phone, lived most of his life, and eventually died. He only spent one year of his life in Canada.

Uh, no. If my parents were Swedish, I'd be Swedish.
You lost this one. Just cause he was born in the US by Canadian parents doesn't make him American.

He's still Canadian, get over it.

Yeah, we freely admit to getting a couple things wrong in that Season 1 video.
Graham-Bell, yeah he's Scottish. At the time we though he had dual citizenship. Although if you read his Wikipedia entry, he spent way more than a year in Canada, and most of the work done on the telephone was split between his Boston lab and his Nova Scotia retreat. So... well it's something anyway.

As King of Canada, I claim Washington state (but not Lyndon), Oregon (particularly Portland), Colorado and Alaska. Henceforth all famous figures from these places shall be known as Canadian and their achievements transferable.
