LRReview: Desert Bus
What? Did you think we weren't going to do something Desert Bus related?
If you have been away for the last week and have not heard of Desert Bus, just belive me when I say that WE HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THIS GAME.

I hoped and prayed but didn't want to get my hopes up.

The words "You must not get much business over there huh?" "Hehe, no we don't." made me laffle, it did. Good job on reviewing something for 4 minutes that simply is godawefully boring. I do love sarcasm, and you applied it excellently here.
And I disagree, Matt and James reviewing worked quite well.
Ah....Desertbus. Good memories.

Ah yes, Desert Bus. Who could possibly forget it? Haha
Did you guys have to drive more outside of the actual Desert Bus charity drive? For the bus stop scene I mean? And if so, how many shots did you have to do? I mean, from what I hear, the bus stop is quite difficult to nail.

The whole daylight, dusk, night, dawn, night, dawn, night again WAS outstanding.
But seriously. That was my favorite part of the video. I like how Howard was driving in the day, but LRR was driving during the dusk, night, dawn, night, dawn, night again.
EDIT: Also, I TOLD YOU THEY DIDN'T PROGRAM DAY BACK IN!

Wil Wheaton says "Game over, Moonpie."
This is an outrage. I don't understand how you can review a game with such glaring control issues (and weak horn sound effects) and still give it a dot dot dot circle half-triangle. At very best, this game only deserves a dot dot dot half-circle.
Seriously, though, I liked the video. It made me smile.

Are you mad? That so-called "weak horn effect" is entirely accurate to the type of vehicle that Desert Bus is simulating! It's these touches that add to the realism of the game, making the player feel that he truly is driving a bus. I personally have not played a bus simulator so fine since 1983's long lamented "Bus Rangers 2" for the Colecovision. Desert Bus is truly a classic of the genre, and you would be remiss in giving it anything lower than a dot dot dot circle quarter triangle.

I really like this one.
I think my favorite part was the bit about day, dusk, night, dawn, night, dawn, night again. I wonder if they never expected anyone to play it that long. Awesome how long y'all managed to talk about the horn too. Heeheehee

Sarcasm, DO IT
It probably has the most replay value of any game we've ever seen, as to achieve the highest score it would require almost 91,000 years. -- This game is built for the hardcore gamer.
Not long ago I, too, calculated the total time it would take to max your score in the game & was struck with sad realization that I will need to find a wife & sire a lineage if ever my family line is going to reach that goal.
I was looking forward to something Desert Bus related but this was better than I imagined. Your apt review actually makes me want to play the game again. Great work. Your DB fanboys are very pleased. I really hope this LRReview gets back to Penn, Teller & Eddie Gorodetsky.
Edit:
Hmm, they neglected to mention the prominent bug splat effect, a charming nod to the real-life consequence of extended driving.

Dudes, you guys totally sold out! How could you possibly scored it that high?
You guys should score on personal opinion rather than what the men in suits tell you to score... Maybe you should be like more respectable gaming sites who never let corruption get in the way of their views. Like Gamespot... or IGN...

That's what I'm saying! Their 'half dot -> dot dot dot circle triangle' scale is so rigged by the game publishers that it might as well be a 'dot dot dot circle half-triangle -> dot dot dot circle triangle' scale instead. Seriously, it's not like we've ever seen them rate a game any lower than that at all ever.
