A tale of rebellion, intrigue and pointedly complete names.

Ugh. Possibly my least favourite fantasy trope: insistence on calling characters by their full names all the time, even in the narration. Could we arrange for the mercifully surname-free Steve to accidentally the whole empire again? Maybe replace it with a less pretentious society?

Maybe if Odo stopped spending so much time trying to learn what it is like to BE the rock, he would have noticed two armies and an entire forest being blown up.

So to me the narration made me think of the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where the guy wrote on the rock all the way up to his death. Seems like something Odo would do...."As she set the house on fire I continued to write this letter in hope that you will get this somehow and rouse the Legion once more" or something like that.
I came, I saw, I lol'd

This made me laugh out loud, for real.
