Re: Diablo 3 vs. Guild Wars 2
I agree. Bodyblocking was good in PvP. It's an extra tactic what is skill-based. You can bodyblock to try and block the enemy from reaching a critically injured ally. If you're concerned about its non-existence tell Arenanet. I understand your displeasure, but expressing your opinion only on this f...

Re: Diablo 3 vs. Guild Wars 2
Collision detection led to some very important strategic maneuvers, especially in GvG, when you were trying to prevent the other team from capturing the flag stand so you could get a morale boost and get your res sigs back. In GW2's PvP, there is no bodyblocking, no flag stand, and no morale boosts....

Re: IndieGoGo Campaign to Make a Special People Comic
Whoops, didn't see your post when it first showed up, ecocd. Thanks for mentioning that. I'll look into it, and if I have to pay tax on it that's fine; I'll cover the difference out of pocket if necessary. We're still going strong with a few days left, just over $100 away from hitting the second tar...

In today's chapter, everyone comes together. But are they all working towards the same thing?

Re: Diablo 3 vs. Guild Wars 2
Friends of mine in the GW2 beta are lamenting the downgraded PvP compared to the original game. This is what I've been worried out all along... GW1's PvP was so incredibly deep and robust, with character collision detection, complex victory conditions and morale boosts, etc., and vital synergy betwe...

New York in 6
Philadelphia in 5
St. Louis in 7
Phoenix in 7
I fully admit that some of this is wishful picking.

Re: Quest for the Stanley Cup 2012
There are already penalties for contracts like Luongo's. New Jersey tried to give one to Kovalchuk and got dinged really hard. Luongo's contract, and a few others, got grandfathered in, sort of.
Luongo is worth more than a lot of people think, IMO.

I don't know... You'd hope for someone worth an equivalent cap hit or something. A really solid forward prospect maybe.

I would be happy to have Luongo in Tampa, depending on what was given up to get him. I wouldn't mind seeing him in Toronto, either. That team needs a real goalie...

Re: Quest for the Stanley Cup 2012
I am a Canucks fan. One of the good ones.
There are far too many of the other kind. The kind who think Luongo sucks. The kind who booed when he was pulled a few weeks ago.
I'm not that kind.

How about some optimism, folks?
Option C) We get a great return on Luongo, Schneider is amazing, and we have several years of continued success.

It's fixed now. One of the forums hosted on my account had some spam issues, I think, so they shut down my sites until I could fix it.
Hopefully it won't happen again. Curse you, spambots!

Re: Quest for the Stanley Cup 2012
Who do you replace Vigneault with? Craig MacTavish? Marc Crawford?
Yes, there needs to be change, but I don't think you need to blow anything up, and I don't think you need to fire one of the best coaches in the league. Coaching wasn't a problem this season, IMO.

Despite all the history, I still think it was too severe. Feels like Torres is being scapegoated a bit.
I would've accepted 10 to 15 games for more easily.

Suddenly I wonder if both Van/LA and Pitt/Philly could go to seven games...
Also: so long, Detroit. You had your years. You'll be back. It's Nashville's turn, though. Good to get some variety at the top, at least.

Re: Schneider pulling a Steve Mason (not Chris Mason; he's a different goalie), remember that Mason was just a kid that first year, while Schneider is 25 or 26 and has a couple of years of consistent strong play under his belt. Not very comparable, IMO. I say if Luongo feels at all like he'd rather ...

Flooding him with Hobbeses wouldn't break him. :) It might just really clutter our nursery... I guess I really shouldn't be surprised that I'm totally not the only person to think of this... But then, a whole nursery full of tigers sounds pretty badass. I'd certainly have been ok with being the kid...

Tapir, start caring about the summer, and wondering what's going to happen with our goalie situation, and what kind of return we'll get in trading one or the other of them. Next year will be another interesting year, even if this one ends sooner than it should! Next year we'll have older, wiser, str...
