Re: Mortal Kombat
Okay... great voiceovers by the guys but I don't think I'll be getting this game anytime soon. or ever. Kinda put off by the bit in the opening with Sonya in the opening in a fanservice-y costume. In two pieces. Being eaten by zombie crows.
I think I need to go throw up now.

Let me make it worse, Geoff_B: there are probably people who fapped to that.

Re: Mortal Kombat
The video... seems to be only 13 seconds long.
Don't know what happened or what changed, and you all have probably already heard about it, but in case you haven't....

Looks like everything works except the standard Flash version. Weird.

13 seconds seems a good length for this. *shudder*

Re: Mortal Kombat
I only got to see the first 13 seconds of this as well. And am I alone in having actually enjoyed this game? Granted, I am a bit of a MK fangirl. Though I will admit the female character's costumes are a little too stripperiffic from time to time, by which I mean I can't think of an occasion where they are not.
Re: Mortal Kombat
Yeah, while I don't actually mind the blood (since I have a very clear mental delineation between real and videogame violence) I have much less problem with all the boobs than the gore.
Having said that, I'm kind of glad MK has gone back to its roots. It's shocking, bloody roots.

Re: Mortal Kombat
I don't mind boobs, but the new costumes on the women are just...yikes. The whole game could be submitted to Boobs Don't Work That Way.

To be fair, that's hardly unique for a fighting game.

No kidding. Soul Calibur and DOA come to mind...

The thing that always gets me about DOA is that someone had to actually decide to have each breast to move completely independently of the other. It was something that was specifically coded-in, presumably after having been brought-up in design meetings where- for reasons I suspect we will never understand- it was then agreed upon.

Not only that, but it takes quite a bit of coding time AND processing power to do that. They had to work out an algorithm for the "jiggle physics" and then make sure it would work on the hardware. That takes a good chunk of time and effort. At least one programmer, if not more, spent many hours working out the precise way in which the boobs would jiggle.
I wouldn't mind so much if the results weren't so grotesquely unrealistic.
