Unskippable: Quantum of Solace

Postby Elomin Sha » 20 Apr 2009, 08:04

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... -of-Solace

"Rawr I say. Rawr I say again!"

So good to have a Phailhaus reference in there.

And we find out this cutscene was enitrely skippable. Awkward.

Ow! My favorite leg!

I'm so glad you guys noticed the skip button... I was having fits for like the first 2 minutes of this episode because of it.

I submit that Daniel Craig supplies all of the necessary sexy silhouettes for the intro sequence.

Oh and, this is the first GIS result for "midget +Donkey -luchador"

Surprisingly tame.

Though this also popped up, and makes me smile:

I spent the last hour F5ing. It either comes up at 4pm or 5pm UK time.

Can you Guess Who?

I actually have that game, it's sitting on the wall where my camera was positioned for Memory Loss Live! and all we really played was Twister...

Escapist seems to always update at 12 PM EST, so I'm happy because I eat lunch and watch either Unskippable or ZP. Then my lunch goes across my desk from laughter.

So... how bout that... skip button... yeah... Good episode guys, I was laughing during the proxy server bit with Paul explaining how is wasn't hacking.

Great stuff as always, I was wondering what treyarch were planning on ruining next. The game plays a bit like RB6 Vegas weirdly, if I remember the PC demo correctly.

Also...MITCHELL

I had a feeling that today's Unskippable was going to be Quantam of Solace, since you guys mentioned looking at it in the podcast.

My favorite bit is a stiff competition between noticing the Skip Button, blocking Mr. White from updating his Facebook status, and the "3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Rush!" Man, Rush, haven't played that game in nearly a decade.

Best worst racing game ever. I kind of wish they would make more of them.

I was half expecting a "Mr. White right leg crippled" or something along the lines of a V.A.T.S. joke, since the sequence in which he gets sniped slows down EXACTLY like a V.A.T.S. kill.

Critical hit on Mr. White!

i didn't find this episode as good as other unskippables, mostly because that is actually a pretty decent cut scene. the best inskippables are when they are taking the piss out of really awful cutscenes. nevertheless it was pretty entertaining.

Oh man, they missed the perfect Pink Floyd reference right at the beginning.

"Ok, we start Dark Side of the Moon......... NOW!"

Another great episode. It reminded me that I still have "From Russia With Love" for the PS2, which I have only played part of. It has Sean Connery voicing Bond which is great but couldn't they have picked a less boring movie for the story?

Not only did Connery do the voice acting for the game, but they let him mo-cap his facial expressions so they could get it perfect. I think I even remember an interview with him where he stated that he'd return to playing Bond again if all it took was voice acting and motion captures on his face. :o

I have the game, too. And, I'll agree that it wasn't the best Connery-Bond film to make a game adaptation of, but there isn't a whole lot of competition. If you get the chance to sit down and really analyze the Connery-Bonds, there isn't much action to work with. The more action, the worse the plot, imo. So, they did the best with what they had.

Still, Goldeneye, best Bond game . . . ever!

I know the early Connery Bond films don't really have a lot of action, the game is going to overemphasize that anyway. I just didn't care for the story in FRWL. I'd much prefer Goldfinger as a game, simply because that's my favourite movie.

Getting off topic from the "Unskippable" episode,

I'd have to say Moonraker would make the best Bond game

The opening joke about favorite legs is about three times as funny if you've seen the end of Casino Royale, which I assume most of you did.
Well, hallo there.

It seems to be a unified male experience that testicular harm, regardless of sexuality or the circumstance of the harm, causes one to feel sympathy pain.

So I can't help but wonder about the reactions of the film crew when they shot that scene...

Great Unskippable!

I really enjoyed the RGB joke more than I should have.
