Phlip: You can still send more money. Extra money goes either to accessories or to charity, depending on how much is left over and how much Tally says the final bill is.

Damn, I didn't even get a chance to donate yet.
Should we go for a second dress?

Charity or accessories... We're thinking about a hobby horse... Or maybe that knife.
Or, maybe a more complex dress from the game?

How about both the hobby horse AND the knife?

Which dress are we going for, here? Given his reaction to it on the latest stream, I'm leaning to the Royal Suit (another reference)...

Re: IDDQDerp
Originally going for the default blue one, but since we're over-funded, maybe we could do a different one?

Re: IDDQDerp
So what triggered the mute on the last stream? Was Alex listening to music? Something in-game? Or did it catch what I assume was Alex singing "Happy Birthday", which is still in dispute if it's public domain or not? Because if it's the third one, congrats Alex, you're more copyright enforceable than Queen and Big Giant Circles.

Ah, that explains it. Still, the overall track record's still good, only two muted parts I've encountered since January.

Re: IDDQDerp
Tally says the Royal Suit is unfeasible if we're looking to get it done before Desert Bus. (And I'm hoping Desert Bus can get some mileage out of having it, too. )

She said that was also unfeasible, too.

Does anyone have a copy of the Jazzpunk playthrough? I don't see it on twitch, OR on the LRL YT channel.

The Long Dark looks interesting. It's a shame it restorts to survival bullshit like breaking can openers.

Well (speaking from experience) can opener blades do dull... though not nearly as quick as The Long Dark would have you believe. I would be okay with it if the degradation was scaled much further back.

Sure they do, but you can open a can with dull blades. The time frame for a can opener to degrade to a point where you are smashing open cans is so far outside the amount of time taking place in The Long Dark that it's not even worth simulating. It's just another example of the obsession survival game designers have with equipment breaking down and requiring raw materials rammed into it on a regular basis rather than problems that more commonly characterize survival situations. It's probably reasonable for a old can opener that you looted that has been kept in a harsh location for too long making it slower to open cans when your hands are cold though I can't say I've actually reality tested that.

Re: IDDQDerp
Well can't a blade's condition get worse if exposed to too much cold or something? We also don't know how long the blade has been exposed to the cold, how much it was used before it was found etc, etc.
The Long Dark takes place in a post-apocalypse setting where essentially a second ice age happened.

I'm not objecting to a can opener being broken when you find it, or being slower to work with but it's simply silly for you to find multiple functional can openers that don't break after a few uses but do break within a few days worth of use.

Re: IDDQDerp
Yea I do agree with you but...it's a game, you know? Sometimes, especially if it's minor, a game doesn't have to be accurate.
I know it's a poor argument to make and just seems lazy but a long lasting can opener wouldn't be fun, my family is still using a can opener we've had when I was a kid. Those things are meant to be durable as hell.
