Just had a spicy beef pasty and cheesy chips for lunch. Pasty was quite nice but I managed to do the cheesy chips just right (more by luck than judgement) and finished them off with Peri Peri chip sprinkle. Fantastic :D

Just made some stuffed chicken breasts; stuffed with swiss cheese, cream cheese, and bacon; topped with mushrooms sautéed in butter with garlic and the trimmings from the breasts. Asparagus on the side.

So I'm stuck on a BRAT diet for the next day or two... any helpful suggestions? I've looked some stuff up but I wanna see what you all come up with
BRAT is: Banana, Rice, Applesauce, Toast (and water)
no seasons, dairy, nothing.
so far I'm looking at banana sandwiches and ricemilk..

My suggestion is to reinterpret "BRAT" as Bratwurst, Ravioli, Artichoke, and Tacos.

No seasonings? Not even sugar or anything? I was gonna say you could do rice pudding. Or, you could slice the bananas and saute them up with applesauce into a kind of dessert slurry thing.

Sorry you have the shits, too.

And then some met. So far though it seems to be better than I though, although I am consuming a LOT of wheat bread. but now with my applesauce, maybe tomorrow will be better. As Brad said, "if this case has taught me anything, it's that trust in your friends and a high fiber diet are the most important things in this world."

Google earth day freebies. If you are able to get to specific shops they are giving out free coffee and such.

What that is I don't even...

On a separate note, after all the amazing meals I had with it in Bangkok, I found a place that sells the Thai flat noodles. I'm trying to figure out things to do with them.

Huh. I... That actually looks pretty good, but I'd prefer the steaks be cooked on a proper grill. And maybe reheat the sandwich on a panini press. Also, not swiss.

Tonight I made pasta sauce.
I forget where I got the recipe, but I had been meaning to make it for a little while because I had heard it was delicious, but I was suspicious that it wouldn't be because of how simple it is.

a can of peeled whole tomatoes -800grams
about 70 grams of butter.
one onion peeled and cut in half.

you put the can of tomatoes in a saucepan with the butter and halves of the onion, squish the tomatoes a bit, on medium heat bring it to a simmer and then turn the heat down to keep the sauce at a slow simmer for about 45 mins, stirring and squishing the bits of tomato every now and then. add salt to taste. when it's ready you take the onion halves out, toss them and serve.

I was surprised, it was pretty nice.

Sunday dinner

Being a yorkshireman, I of course know the secret recipe for Yorkshire pudding

Lasagne's my speciality, though I have a tendency to have trouble keeping the bechemel sauce smooth. Next time I make one, assuming I remember, I'll take a pic or two.

Having lost 4 lbs over the past 2 weeks I decided to spoil myself and made this
Image
Thats a large (about 1in - 1.5inch) high soughdough bread with 1/2lb of muenster cheese, 3 strips of bacon and a rare 1/2-3/4lb chunk of chuck steak. I only ate half and wrapped the other half and put weight on it. Came out a LOT easier to mouth. Soooo good.

Gah! I'm such a muppet sometimes, I fail at dropbox... 2 ticks

https://www.dropbox.com/s/k05anud52oea5 ... asagne.gif

ok, i can't seem to get it to animate until its downloaded, the original link showed it animated (seems to only show for me since I'm logged in to dropbox, that's why I didn't realise it wasn't coming up)

downloading from that link works, but seems like too much effort for casual observer. Oh well.

Looks good, but what did you use as seasoning? All I caught was Worcestershire sauce, which... strikes me as a bad choice.
