Bird punching simulator. You know it's the only possible answer, even against anti-gravity hookshot.

I'd really like to see someone in the crew play Antichamber, and I feel like Alex would be the best pick. He always has the best reactions to things. ^_^
Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
Already did, IIRC. He was not enthused.
When the upkeep takes longer than the main phase, I know I've done my job well.

Alex just doesn't get along well with puzzle games.

Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
Especially 'cute' puzzle games (let's be honest - when the game give you a pithy old saw apropos of the puzzle after you've gotten past it to 'tell you of the lesson you learned from the puzzle'....yeah, even I have to be in the right mood to put up with that.
It can be fun, but the player has to be in the right frame of mind - take me right now: tired, achy, grumpy and downright misanthropic due to a shitty night at work - if I were to go fire up Antichamber right now, within a half-hour either my monitor would be embedded in a wall or my hard drive would be in the toilet...or maybe both.
ANYWAY, despite being the person who a) suggested Just Cause 2 and 2) the person who gifted it to him when it was dirt cheap, I actually voted for Guacamelee - partly because it sounds like a great match-up for Alex (he seems to RAWK at platformers - hell, he FINISHED TOKI!), also partly because JC2 is a sandbox and it might get a little wandering and lose a little focus...
...and then I see that it's got more than half the votes!
Welp, if you DO decide to don Rico Rodriguez's snakeskin cowboy boots, maybe stick to just the missions - there's three 'factions' you can help by doing missions for, in addition to the 'main' story missions; if you restrict yourself to those, you might be able to keep gameplay into something manageable for a stream...as opposed to wiping out every military base and liberating every hamlet and village - I've got 95+hrs logged in it, and I'm maybe 50% through all of the stuff to do

It was winning at one point...

Yeah that's why I'd rather see something else. Just Cause 2 is a super fun game, but it takes about 20 hours to beat. And that's just sticking to the main story without derping around, which let's face it would be virtually impossible.
Oh well, I'm sure Alex-senpai will notice the issues and figure something out. Possibly just stream both?

It has 33% of the votes currently.

Holy dick how have I not put that on the list
Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
I' like to see Guacamelee. I just learned about it and I'm wanting to buy it myself. The art-direction looks great, and it's not often you have a story based in Mexico, involving their various mythologies. I just wasn't sure if this would be best suited for Alex or Graham.
The creators were cool enough to post a tutorial on how to create your own custom skins for the game characters. It makes me want to learn Flash just so I can make add in some LRR characters.

Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
I think Graham mentioned having played it.
Also YES, the custom LRR characters thing never occurred to me, but it's a fantastic idea!

I can't suggest the Banner Saga Highly enough to you Alex, I think the game is utterly gorgeous, the game play is challenging without being ridiculously hard and the story is also really really good. I honestly think it is a game that you would really enjoy.

I nominate Prototype for the next round, so Alex can experience being a terrible person.

And following that InFamous, so their eternal struggle may continue (also because it's a really good game)

I think Alex has ruled out Sandboxes
Alex Steacy wrote:Skyrim/Fallout/Most sandbox games
There is just too much to do in these games and without specific goals or at least a time limit I could end up playing for ages. That having been said, there may be plans afoot to do something utilizing these titles elsewhere.
Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
Well yeah but then Just Cause 2 is like the ultimate sandbox. I spent many many hours just dicking around in it, since it opens the whole island to you pretty much from the start.

I think calling InFamous a sandbox game is giving it to much credit. Yes, it has a world where you can freely walk around in, but aside from some sidequest the game is pretty focused. Far more than JC2.

Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6
I'd really like to see someone on LRL play Lifeline (originally known as 'Operator's Side' in Japan). PS2 title played almost entirely by voice commands, and as such I think it is one of the few second-person games. It's the future, you're on a space station (for a party I think), resident evil stuff happens, you're locked in the control room and have to guide another survivor (whom you can see through security cameras) around the game by telling her what to do.
Also, have you played the Unfinished Swan Alex? It'd fit right in with the other quirky, atmospheric games you've liked playing on stream.

Submitting Transistor for the next round. Mostly out of hype.

I'd also recommend checking out Yahtzee's games here http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm
Start with 1213. The best stand-alone game of the bunch, I think.
Then move on to either the CHZO series with 5 Days a Stranger, or if you need less spoops and more fun platforming than go with Trilby: The Art of Theft

I nominate Dead Island with the mod "Fist of the Dead Star" installed. Gives your character super-jumps and superfast high-damage punches and kicks with increased kockback. Increases run-speed as well. Sadly it doesn't have any Kenshiro sound effects.
Then again, it is a sandbox game. But if you just stick with the main plot it probably won't be so bad.

Yeah, ANY streaming of sandbox games should be kept to the main storyline/missions/quests/whatever in the interest of...keeping interest.

I think Alex said he isn't really into Transistor.
But it's a really good game, y'all.
I'll again cast my vote for either Asura's Wrath or Zeno Clash. The first is anime bullshit in all it's glory and the latter is just full on complete and utter bonkers. Either way, they both pretty much spell out "Alex" in my book.
