PAX Day Afterwards
September 1st, 2008

Posted by Tim

Well we’re back from the Penny Arcade Expo and I figured that since I started off the convention with a blog post, I might as well end it off with one, as well.

It was awesome. Ridiculously awesome. I had a great time, and I know everyone else in the group did as well. There were some great games to see, some very entertaining panels, some good music (I’ll let others speak to the music–I only saw two or three songs), and a lot of fun just hanging out.

Some of the excitement of the trip can be experience through the Loading Time series we shot during the day before PAX and the three days the convention ran. You can see the first three days on the site already (Day 0 here. Day 1 here, and Day 2 here).

We also executed the LRR PAX Get-together, which we decided, during the event, to dub LRRCon 2008. A lot of people showed up (we foolishly forgot to get a headcount) and had an awesome time hanging out, taking pictures, getting autographs, and being uber nerds together. There were multiple cameras and camera-persons documenting it. You can see Sable’s photo coverage here, and you can check out some video footage in the PAX Day 2 Loading Time.

For anyone else who was at PAX and/or at LRRCon ’08, feel free to share some impressions on the forums and let everyone know how jealous they should be that you got to see Fallout 3 live and hang out with the LRR Crew.

Hope to see you all next year!

  1. Just so you know, the Day 2 and Day 3 links in that post both link to Loading Time 02C.

  2. Sorry, the “Day 3” thing should have said Day 2, since the first day (which wasn’t part of PAX) was Day 0. The Day 3 video hasn’t gone up yet.

  3. I had a great time at PAX, and was excited to meet you guys (I was the Enforcer who recognized you outside of your hotel on Friday). Kinda bummed that you guys got the cold shoulder about getting a panel of some sort out there. Don’t know who you e-mailed for this last one, but e-mail mikef [at] penny-arcade.com about next year’s expo instead of pax_panels. More results that way. Hope to see you guys next year, maybe at a panel or with your very own booth selling DVDs!

  4. Hey, i’m glad I remembered your guy’s website from the t-shirts you had on. We were standing behind some of you (i think) on day one. PAX was awesome, cool website.
