Time is Money: Behind-the-Scenes

This was a pretty straight-forward shoot, once we found the right location. I’d had a place in mind, which turned out to be under renovations when we got there. But the eventual location was close by, so it didn’t take long.

Shooting was also quick, considering. There were big lines to remember, especially for me, and we had to keep camera angles in mind for overlaying the graphs later.

Nate spent a while wandering around in underwear and a long coat while the skeleton wore his clothes. A skeleton that Alex and Raymond’s dad just had.

Once it was down to post-production, it came to making the overlays. I ended up doing them in 3D, which may not have been the best way, but was the easiest for me. We give Jer a good-natured ribbing in the podcast for consistantly writing videos with challenging post effects, but they’re a fun challenge for me (in most cases) and I liked figuring out how to make these work.

  4. Alex could replace Paul’s sad beard face with his concerned beard face 😀

  5. I only just noticed, why does Ray appear to be distinctly displeased with the circumstances?

    Maybe it’s the hair…

  6. I don’t know if anyone has noticed but Raymond looks quite a bit like Irish comedian Ed Byrne.
