Hey guys, so as many of you might have just heard while watching Desert Bus during the Russ Pitts call in, this January LoadingReadyRun will be showing our videos exclusively on The Escapist Magazine which is where you guys can currently see ENN and Unskippable.
Obviously you guys are going to have a lot of questions and we promise you that after desert bus (and a couple days of rest) we will do our best to answer all your questions.
I will leave you with this, yes things are going to change but we feel these are going to be really positive changes that we hope every can get on board with.
‘Bout fucking time tbh 🙂
I sure hope videos will really shoot up in quality now. Graham and Paul can video edit/Website admin full time now! 😀
Plus I hope the crew members can get some mullah their way too.

This is excellent news! I’m looking forward to seeing all the cool stuff you guys can do with support from The Escapist!
Comment by David — November 24, 2009 @ 7:01 pm
I expect that soon LRR will have an actual moonbase.
Comment by Zivlok — November 24, 2009 @ 7:41 pm
Does this mean that the LRR community gets to claim that we liked you guys before you were popular?
Comment by Smallpoxxer — November 24, 2009 @ 10:13 pm
Some time ago, a joke was made on the forums about how soon it would be “LRR: Featuring all the stuff that used to be on The Escapist”
Clearly Russ Pitts et al read this and preformed a premptive strike, swallowing up LRR before LRR did the same to them. Crafty corporate types!
So anyway, yayz 4 LRR. I wonder what will happen to this site when they all move away.
Comment by CaptainBerry — November 24, 2009 @ 10:23 pm
I totally made a joke to mt friend earlier today saying the escapest should just buy you guys out, 5 min latter i got the tweet on my phone, I was flabbergasted
Comment by Sir_Lag — November 25, 2009 @ 12:43 am
Looking forward to further details.

This comment is win.
On topic, Congrats!

My first reaction when I read this was the standardized internet rage-ish “Nooo! don’t sell your souls! Now there’s nothing special about me for following a comedy group that (almost) nobody else has heard of!” That’s of course extremely selfish, immature and dumb. You guys have spent so many hours on LRR that you more than anyone deserve to get a pay raise for it. Moreover, It means you will (hopefully) get more resources and time to improve the quality of your videos, so even I personally will. Plus, I should be happy for everyone else who’ll now get a chance to laugh at your creations, rather than being smug about it.
So congrats, LRR. You deserve it. My only /real/ concern is that I will miss watching the vids on this site which is so much more personal to me than the Escapist will ever become.
Comment by JeCa — November 26, 2009 @ 6:48 am
you will still post videos on this site right? I dont want the lrr comunity to die. Well done on making cash just make sure you keep making cool videos! Ive been here for years although i just watch and dont forum
Comment by deadagain33 — November 26, 2009 @ 1:34 pm
I was a little hesitant when I first heard this like a lot of people but I’m really happy for you guys. You’ve all put in metric fuck ton of work to make LRR what it is and you really deserve this.
I’ve been watching you since 1337 way back when and the fact you never failed to upload a new vid always amazed me. You’ve always put in the effort to deliver week after week completely off your own backs and now things are really picking up for you guys.
It’s been a long time coming I think so congrats to the whole crew. You guys deserve all the success you get because I can think of no one who’s provided me with more original geeky humor.
Comment by The G — November 26, 2009 @ 2:03 pm
So does this mean that the Escapist’s video streaming system will be embedded into this site the way Youtube is now and Revver and Blip.tv were in the past, or will the videos only be shown on the Escapist’s site while loadingreadyrun.com lays fallow?
Comment by JSW — November 26, 2009 @ 4:08 pm
Count down to LRR and related videos becoming a full time job starts NOW!
Comment by iareman — November 26, 2009 @ 4:10 pm
Well done guys, an all round great success!
Comment by dannnn — November 26, 2009 @ 5:41 pm
I’m really happy for you guys.
This isn’t a sell out, It’s an expansion, It wouldn’t be a sell out unless they started taking orders from the escapist which is something I don’t see happening.
Best of Luck All of you

LRR already HAS an actual moonbase. Anyone who says otherwise is a dirty stinking Communist liar!
And congratulations, that’s quite awesome.

YOUVE SOLD OUT AGAIN! and I couldnt be more happy for you 🙂
Comment by Patriot — November 26, 2009 @ 11:06 pm
I think we are gonna need more information soon about this, such as the effect on the forums, Loading Ready Runners, etc. However, from what I can tell, The Escapist loves your work and your style, and they don’t seem to want to take you all over. Also, Russ and the staff seem to be really awesome people in general.
In some ways, this is EXACTLY what you wanted from the beginning: LRR may soon become self-sufficient. But I will say this: WE KNEW YOU FIRST!
Comment by tak197 — November 27, 2009 @ 1:41 am
If you keep this site running (and link off to the escapist when someone clicks a link) most people probably won’t notice, I’m really overjoyed for you guys and even if you can’t link to the videos on the site, I’m sure the Escapist will let you keep the forums running.
This is nothing but a good thing and great news for everyone,
Yes! I knew you before you were famous! I knew you before you posted your videos to youtube or created Unskippable.
That’s my claim to fame!
Comment by kzap333 — November 27, 2009 @ 5:03 am
@JSW I don’t think escapist videos can be embedded but I’m guessing they can just link to the escapist site when you click on each video, so it will be basically the same, although I doubt the escapist will allow downloading (as then you wouldn’t be looking at the ads).
Comment by kzap333 — November 27, 2009 @ 5:07 am
As long as it doesn’t mean you have to use The Escapist’s ‘Even Worse Than Youtube'(tm) flash player, I’ll be happy.
Comment by psuedonymous — November 27, 2009 @ 9:17 am
@psuedonymous
I don’t want to speak to soon but I’m pretty sure that’s going to be a given, I don’t work for either LRR or the Escapist so I don’t actually KNOW, but so far every other series on the escapist is exclusively on their player including ENN and Unskippable so I doubt this one will be any different.
Like I said I can’t be 100% sure but there’s no reason this would be an exception.
Comment by kzap333 — November 27, 2009 @ 12:26 pm
Also, if they are your new partners, you may want to SPELL THEIR NAME RIGHT!
Comment by tak197 — November 27, 2009 @ 3:01 pm
I am Escapist of Borg. Your flash player will be assimilated.
I actually like their flash player…
Comment by Veritasiness — November 27, 2009 @ 8:38 pm
@Veritasiness Yea I don’t mind there flash player, the quality isn’t great and I have problems putting it in full screen, but I think the latter is my computer more than anything else.
The only thing I’m worried about is I doubt I’ll be able to download my favorite episodes (I haven’t found a ripper that works with their flash player).
Comment by kzap333 — November 28, 2009 @ 4:39 am
I guess they will do what the guy behind Unforgotten Realms did and embed it on the LRR site a while after the initial ‘premier’ on the Escapist site. This way most people will still go to the Escapist site (so they can make their money from the adds) but the community will sat alive here. @kzap333 – download helper (Firefox extension) works fine for Escapist videos. I think they are in the .M4V format.
Comment by Zig13 — November 28, 2009 @ 5:44 am
so, how much of this site will stay active ?
Comment by iwashere33 — November 28, 2009 @ 11:25 am
In the end, I know that so long as the LoadingReadyRun touch is still there in all the vids, it can’t be TOO bad.
That said, I’m going to miss the homey feeling of this site if it’s no longer part of the equation, and I’m sorta wondering about how all these big changes intended to get more followers are going to affect the character of the vids.
Comment by meg — November 28, 2009 @ 9:53 pm
…But will there still be podcasts? The people want to know.
Comment by Moose — November 29, 2009 @ 2:19 am
Congratulations on moving up in the world!
Hopefully though, this does not mean a step back as well. HD Videos have been very nice, and the Escapist has terrible video quality. Of course, that shouldn’t take too much away from the videos, because I watch everything else they have on that site.
But on the bright side I’ll be freeing up the number 1 slot on my firefox speedial, or maybe another one because Escapist will be taking it.
Comment by Dangerfield Newby — November 29, 2009 @ 3:53 pm
congrats but now if anyone i know tries to say they found some cool guys on the escapist i can say i knew them for a while now! their move to the escapist is my dad changing jobs at 45
and congrats!
Comment by Brooklyn — November 29, 2009 @ 8:20 pm
congrats and now you can reappear on Doomsday Arcade and boast you have three serieses (how do you spell that?) on the Escapist! 😛
Comment by Cattonia — November 30, 2009 @ 5:18 pm
I’m super happy to see that everyone is avoiding the whole sellout business.
I’ve been checking out your videos regularly since Slow news day was posted up on fark. Genius then. and glad to see you are getting recognition. The minds behind Paquel Manovich deserve far larger circulation then an accidental showing on Leno for a spoof video based on getting hit in the gentleman callers.
Even if the site goes away ( I suspect it will not ) I will keep the bookmark, just to prove I was a fan before it was cool.
Comment by Syncdata — December 1, 2009 @ 12:13 am
Actually, I take back my previous statement.
I have never been too active on your forums, but from what I’ve seen it’s a pretty nice place. Once I listened to your podcast about the move, it seems like you’ll be doing quite an overhaul of the website. I’ll leave it there if for no other reason than the bonus videos, and maybe I’ll start getting involved in the forums.
Once again, congratulations I love to see you guys get paid, I always tried to click on the ads you had because unfortunately I don’t have too much spare cash laying around.
Comment by Dangerfield Newby — December 1, 2009 @ 7:14 pm
one word summary:
FAIL
I have never even heard of “the Escapist”, I have never been to the site.
I found LRR many years ago after seeing “Talk like a pirate”. I love this site and the creative things you guys do here. IIf this move means that this site will be going away, or will be going stale, then as far as I am concerned, this is a big FAIL.
Please reconsider this terrible move.

Comment by yourblankfile — December 3, 2009 @ 1:48 pm
Does this mean you’ll still be “posting” videos on this site, but they’ll be embedded links to the escapist? I like this website. Don’t shut it down.
Comment by Kramerr — December 3, 2009 @ 5:42 pm
This is great that you’ll get more recognition and cash flow. I just hate Flowplayer.
Comment by Mav — December 4, 2009 @ 1:44 am
Yea, don’t shut this site down or stop posting videos here. This site feel much more personal then the escapist, but congratulations anyway! You truly deserves it!
Comment by Andreas — December 5, 2009 @ 4:26 pm
Is there any word on if the episodes be released in the podcast feed? Some of the episodes don’t show up, so I end up missing them.
Comment by Podcasting's Rich Sigfrit — December 7, 2009 @ 8:58 am
From what I understand, from the guys and from the phone conversation, they will still be doing a lot of their own videos and posting them here, but they will be doing more Escapist specific content and those videos and the rights to those videos will be “leased” from them for monies and shown exclusively on the Escapist website.
LRR plz correct me if I’m wrong 🙂
Comment by lila_may_qt — December 10, 2009 @ 10:49 pm
lila_may_qt makes the sense.
Comment by Chipp — December 15, 2009 @ 10:51 pm
If it wasn’t for the The Escapist, I probably never would have found out about LRR. I must have been hiding under a rock to have missed it for so many years & I’m sure many people who went to the escapist originally to watch Zero Punctuation saw ENN, liked it, clicked the link to LRR and was astonished to find a butt load of original content. Now I have 5 years worth of videos to sift through & enjoy. So to anyone who thinks this is a bad idea, keep in mind The Escapist brought in whole lot of new viewers to LRR.
Comment by JJ — December 17, 2009 @ 11:20 am
Congrats, LRR!
It’s been great to see you grow for the past few years. Us Vancouver/Island folks have to support each other, and it’s fantastic to see you’ve made the jump. Hope you have worked out a wonderful content and monetary deal, wishing you well for it!

LRR is finally braking through to the mainstream!
Yes, I know that’s a double edged sword but they make great videos and deserve so much more attention then they get.
Besides last year I found them on the escapist through a tiny tiny link; so I was lucky to even find this site.

I leave a response whenever I appreciate a post on a site or I have something to add to the conversation.
It’s triggered by the fire communicated in the post I looked at.
And after this post LoadingReadyRun Blog – LRR + The Escapist Magazine = Success.
I was excited enough to drop a comment 😉 I actually do
have 2 questions for you if you don’t mind. Is it only me or does it look like like a few
of these responses appear like left by brain dead visitors?
😛 And, if you are writing on other online social
sites, I would like to follow you. Could you list the complete urls of your social pages like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
