ROUND 1! FIGHT!

Well, this video is one of Graham’s creations, and honestly, I think it might be his sharpest script in a while (it’s certainly my favorite among recent videos). The sheer density of references and gags per minute is absolutely off the chart. Fear not though, you won’t have to study up on your fighting games to get what’s going on. If you do, however, there are two super obscure references for only the hardest of hardcore fighting game enthusiasts to enjoy. Let us know if you think you’ve found them in the comments.

Unskippable this week is Jumper: Griffin’s Story. In a twist that is a surprise to no one, this movie-licensed game is not very good.

  1. Not very obscure, but died of laughter at the Bison/Balrog comment

  2. Blue Suede Goo vs. Exor are the two most obscure references I could catch, in that I actually had to google them to find out they were from Clayfighter and War Gods respectively. I’m not sure about Clayfighter, but War Gods is about as obscure as they come.

  3. Hilarious as usual. Hope we can get some pics of those posters up on here, I wasn’t able to read all of them despite pausing the video multiple times. XD

  4. I had completely forgot about Clayfighter, what an odd game.

  5. CLAYFIGHTER!

…Now I have to go on a quest (again) to find that game so I can play it (again), hopefully in emulator format…

  6. Great video as always. Didn’t get all the references but really didn’t need to to enjoy it. Kudos to Graham and Paul on excellent performances and on all the poster art (seems like an ideal auction item for DB4).

Also, quick question, but what’s with the date on the posters? August 7 is a Saturday not a Sunday this year. Is it a typo or is the video meant to take place next year (when August 7 will be a Sunday)? Not trying to be critical or anything, just something I noticed.

  8. I loved Clay Fighter as a kid. Kinda weird how the boss was a Pearl Necklace that shot white blobs at you… Never heard of War Gods though. I’ll have to look that game up. 😀
