About a month ago, I put up a blog post asking for your designs on a variant LoadingReadyRun logo t-shirt. We received many designs from many creative people, and it was a difficult job narrowing down submissions to what we have today.
After a week of mulling over the crop of excellent designs, the crew has narrowed it down to three final nominees. I’m posting the designs in their original forms, as well as our interpretations of them to best represent how they will appear on the fnal shirts. These designs could change slightly from this point, but not in any significant way.
Now it’s up to you to choose which design will be printed and whose design we will buy. I am not going to reveal the names of the designers in this post, but I will post their names (with their permission) once voting closes. I will also post a full gallery of designs early next week, to celebrate the creativity of the community.
Again, we are thrilled by the amount of talent and effort poured into this open call, and incredibly thankful to have such a continually awesome community.
…and now, the final three!
Development Name: Starburst
Development Name: Rocket
Development Name: Die
We will collect votes on these designs for exactly one week, or until 11:59pm PST, Aug 16, 2010. After that, we’ll contact the winner about the business end of things. This should be an interesting week.
Let the best shirt win!
Which do you think should be the next LRR T-Shirt Pre-Order
- Starburst (42%, 587 Votes)
- Rocket (31%, 436 Votes)
- Die (26%, 367 Votes)
Total Voters: 1,390

Very tough choice. Vote cast though.
Well done designers 🙂

Really really hard to make a decision but vote is cast. Well done to you all!

Awww, kinda disappointed my entry didn’t make it. But congratulations to those who did!
A question I was going to ask in my email but forgot to because of how tired I was, do you guys mind if I post my design up on my deviantArt?
Comment by Moon_Called — August 10, 2010 @ 2:25 pm
I hate to say it, but honestly I’m not particularly fond of any of those designs. There’s just not a whole lot you can do with the LRR logo as a t-shirt design that appeals to me.
Comment by Master Gunner — August 10, 2010 @ 2:28 pm
Very nice designs! Shame I couldn’t vote for all of them…
Comment by Juliamon — August 10, 2010 @ 2:58 pm
@Gunner: I think Deviant Art’s fine.
Comment by Jeremy — August 10, 2010 @ 3:09 pm
Darn and blast, i kina figgured you would wand a smaller design. oh well, good luck to dice man. i too shall be posting my fails on dA. I’ll post a link soon
Comment by Andy — August 10, 2010 @ 3:23 pm
Yeah gotta say I’m not too chuffed about those designs, the Rocket one is good, don’t me wrong, it’s like Gunner said, there’s just not much you can do with the LRR logo…
Comment by Archemetis — August 10, 2010 @ 3:24 pm
Love them all, had to pick one. Sadface.
Comment by Metcarfre — August 10, 2010 @ 3:27 pm

The final three are awesome. It’s good to be part of a community where you can compete on this great tier of skill.
Comment by Billiem — August 10, 2010 @ 4:10 pm
The dark/light blue starburst on a black shirt looks pretty stupendous, I definitely want one!! *starts saving for it*
Comment by Misty — August 10, 2010 @ 4:13 pm
Really like the Starburst thing, but I tuck my shirts. You might want to raise the motive a bit higher on the shirt. With that position, half the picture would be in my pants.
Comment by the27thvoice — August 10, 2010 @ 4:40 pm
So which of these is tensen’s?
Fan of the rocket one.
Comment by Xix — August 10, 2010 @ 4:44 pm
Starburst on black, FTW!
Comment by epocalypse — August 10, 2010 @ 4:47 pm
I want to vote for all three but I went with the dice.
Comment by Elomin Sha — August 10, 2010 @ 5:11 pm
Starburst was pretty damn sweet, but I hated that it was in the bottom corner of the shirt so I voted Dice
Comment by Richard Nixon — August 10, 2010 @ 5:35 pm
Oh also, I just was wondering, the Space Invaders design you received, was that copyright?
Comment by Richard Nixon — August 10, 2010 @ 5:37 pm
I like the dice one, but with the red logo it feels like alternate universe LRR.
Comment by Yaxley — August 10, 2010 @ 5:49 pm
I will most likely buy the Star burst shirt if it wins. It is the tops.
Comment by Mike Lunsford — August 10, 2010 @ 6:11 pm
I loved the rocket, but as a T-shirt I thought it may have been a bit too kiddie. The starburst was cool, but I just didn’t like it as much as the other two. I ended up going with the die shirt cause I know I’d wear something like that and It’s an awesome design.
By the way, can we get an actual die with the LRR logo on it?
Comment by Redslash — August 10, 2010 @ 6:43 pm
@Redslash The logistical issue there is the layout of a d6. Standard practice with novelty dice is to put the logo in place of the six, so that it’s easy to remember what it stands for. Assuming, as per the T-shirt, we were to use the three as the dots, and the one as the circle, this would put the logo in the wrong order around the die [O o o o >] instead of [o o o O >]. Still, an intriguing idea…
Comment by Jeremy — August 10, 2010 @ 7:32 pm
they all look pretty sweet!
but i went with the starburst one
Comment by dex-dex — August 10, 2010 @ 7:57 pm
Well, it looks like someone did pretty much the same thing I did with the rocket idea, but I have to admit theirs looks better.
Here it is for comparison: http://mrtsuyoshi.deviantart.com/art/Lurrocket-174839638
Comment by Rabid Golfcart — August 10, 2010 @ 7:59 pm
@Jer: I would definitely buy LRR themed dice.
Maybe a set, with the highest number on each die being the LRR logo?
Comment by Moon_Called — August 10, 2010 @ 8:01 pm
Odd.
I’ve been away from home all day, yet I come home to vote, and my vote has already been cast.
If it’s by IP, no one else in my family has access to this computer (or even watches LRR).
Also, the vote is to the one I was first leaning towards, but not the one I was ultimately going to cast.
Should I send an email?
Comment by theDreamer — August 10, 2010 @ 9:16 pm
Huh.
I can vote now.
Keep calm and carry on, I guess.
Comment by theDreamer — August 10, 2010 @ 9:32 pm
See, told you all. None of those are mine!
And they’re all way better. I vote Dice, being a gamer.
Comment by Tensen01 — August 11, 2010 @ 2:22 am
Here was my design, first on the page.

For serious, I -love- the Rocket one! On a black or blue shirt, that’d look freakin’ epic. I’d wear it. o.o
Comment by Hileict/MattAn24 — August 11, 2010 @ 3:33 am
Indeed, the rocket reigns supreme.
Comment by Andrew Wade — August 11, 2010 @ 3:46 am
These are all good designs, but don’t think I would wear any of these shirts… Maybe if the starburst were placed somewhere else on the shirt (my vote for that would by around the shoulder).
Comment by Ench — August 11, 2010 @ 1:37 pm
Anyway you could do a run of all of them because I know I would buy two of them for sure.
Comment by Littleman 64 — August 11, 2010 @ 7:46 pm
I have no idea which to vote for…argh.
Comment by VanSlick — August 12, 2010 @ 12:37 am
I love the Starburst, but I don’t like the placement though I’m sure my opinion on it doesn’t matter too much. I agree with Ench and say a shoulder region would be much better. But three cheers to all the artists! Hip hip..
Comment by Skamakazi — August 14, 2010 @ 11:08 am
How does one vote? I see the results, but no voting option…
Comment by Timmmm — August 14, 2010 @ 2:28 pm
Aww, the rocket isn’t going to win. I would buy that shirt for sure
