Loaded and Ready to Run
July 6th, 2010

Posted by Jeremy

As part of their fifth anniversary issue, the Escapist posted a bio piece on LoadingReadyRun. Nick Halme of the Big E spent the last weekend with us observing our creative process–mostly a lot of meetings, actually–and watching us film this week’s video. It’s a nice piece, especially in pdf form, and worth a read.

Perusing the comments on the article may have made me tear up like the old softy I am–did I mention we love you guys?

  1. Definitely a good read. And I’d like to point out that I love both of the group photos in the article. They’re *very* striking. Props to James for taking them.

Oh, and Jer… *sniff* we love you too.

  3. Oh, I wasn’t looking at the PDF. Cool!

  4. Tim, the pdf download has two photos, the web article just one. I assume that is what Vanguard is referring to.

  5. Gah, ninja’d!

Well, as long as I’m here, let me ask. Does the high demand for people to meet you, as evidenced by the comments, mean the Escapist will pay for you to attend more conventions in the future?

  8. Well, you are one of the few people that’s fun to watch when they have lost all faith in the world.

  9. I just wanted to say to you guys that I definitely agree with the author of this article, especially in that you all seem like people that I would really love to just chill and play some games with! Your content amuses me so much on a daily basis, and I listen to all the LRRcasts. I figured I should try and tell y’all that you are all really nice and funny! Keep doing what you do every day!

  10. Hey, *I’ve* never made you watch Twilight, Matt :/

(I’ve just watched your pain from the sidelines in amusement)

This article does pretty much confirm one thing that I’ve been thinking about for a while; flying up to Victoria for a week to help with LRR and generally hang out would be an *awesome* vacation. At least by my standards.

Oh, and that group photo for the article? I’m going to go ahead and vote that you make it the new “Comedy: Serious Business” picture in the “About” section of the site.

  11. Since I can’t comment on the Escapist anymore…

Still love you guys, though you might not like me so much. 😉 I’m glad you’re getting a lot of well deserved publicity and respect.

    (ENN: Snobcon was excellent btw)

  12. Matt, I did not participate in you seeing multiple viewing of that shit!
i don’t wish that on anyone! The worst thing was my manager thinks it is the best movie she has ever seen. I almost vomited on her!

  14. I agree with the article in every way. Ya’ll deserve all the praise you can get, you are definitely the only thing that I look forward to on the internet. Also I’ll have to tell a friend of mine that I was right. I told him that ya’ll were alot more organized then it seemed, as he thought you just winged stuff. The fact that your hats are organized in order of silliness is evidence of this. Now if only I’d bet money on it…

  15. I could’ve sworn that, when I read the article yesterday, it said that LRR has 4 series (serieses? serii? serials?) running on The Escapist.

I’ve now perused the entire document.. twice. I can’t find it anywhere.

That aside, the article seems to have hit the nail on the head, from what I know about you guys.

  16. Wow, you guys are the only people I know who still uses Google Wave. My friends and I gave up on it months ago. Props!

…oh, and it was a nice article too 😛

  17. I first discovered Loading Ready Run via ENN on the Escapist. As I got exposed to more of LRR’s content (the podcast, Failhaus, Loading Time), I was really impressed by the indie, DIY ethic: a group of people working hard and having fun creating a media business from the ground up.
