Hey guys.

So i will post a much more in depth post about our 2nd day at the con later tonight or tomorrow morning. Just wanted to say that, now that i have finally seen Kevin Smith live in a Q&A i can die happy. However now i just want to see him again.

More to come later.

Day 4 : First Day that the ComiCon
July 27th, 2007

Hey Everyone!

Well as you know we safely (not to mention finally) made it to San Diego late Wednesday night. Unfortunatly we got in to late and we missed preview night at the Con, but i don’t think anyone cared to much. We were all just happy to finally be in San Diego. When we got to the hotel and checked in, most of us headed down to the bar/rest to grab some food and some beers to celebrate our glorious trip down the US. When we finally got to bed at 3am Me, Bill and Morgan gave Ben the demanding lead in the point race. I will let you know what gave him the large lead at a latter date.

FIRST DAY AT THE SAN DIEGO COMIC CONVENTION :

WOW. Their is very little else to say about the convention. I was blown away by he sheer size of the convention center. Let alone what was beyond the exterior.

When we got there we made it in the Con with little hiccups. The lines were kinda lame, but thank god we are professionals in the eyes of the con, or we would have been waiting a hell of a lot longer. Me and Adam were the last 2 of us to make it through the line, and my jaw just droped the second we walked into the exhibitors hall. Unless you go to this thing there are very little words to describe the place. “Died and gone to geek heaven” or a “kid in a enourmous candy shop” come to mind. The pictures i took can’t do this place justice. There is so much to see and more important so much cool stuff to buy. I am worried that Matt is going to be calling his parents in the next few days begging and pleading to wire him money to buy that one last Optimus Prime collectible. The place is an internet celeb watering hole. Yesterday i had a good chat with Maddox, Penny Arcade guys, The Dayfree Press boys and a bunch of others. Most of us were all over the place. Morgan and Jessica were dressed up as Han and Slave Leah, and could not walk 20 steps before they were asked for a picture. So Morgan the smart little boy he is, handed out a card to everyone that wanted a picture taken. Most of the rest of us were either manning our booth (Artist Alley – HH11) or just wandering around the show floor. I think i walked a circle around that place 4 times, and without fail i would always see something new that i had missed before. Just as a side note: Yesterday and Sunday are the “slower” days of the Con and walking from one end of the hall to the other end can take upwards of 30 minutes. And that is without really stopping to check stuff out.

We made it through the day with fairly decent traffic through our booth. We aren’t HUGE so the majority of people there don’t really know us. But you had better believe that when someone came with reach we gave them a business card. We did however sell 2 sets of the LRR season DVDs, which was pretty neat. And according to Graham, Will Wheaton popped by our booth, pretty neato!

So today is another day back at the Con. Going to be a little bit busier today which is cool. And panel wise there is a couple things going on. Kevin Smith being the big one for most of us. And today is the start of the film fest, and we are featured at 1:50pm with our smash hit “Talk like a Pirate”

There is so much more crap i could write about but it would take me a while. If anyone has any questions about the con or how things are going for us just post them in the comment section.

Another quick thing. If you have ever thought about visiting San Diego for whatever reason, I would highly suggest it. I haven’t seen much but of what i have its a gorgeous city.

I will do my best to get some pictures up here in the next day or so. People were talking about going out tonight but there has been a minor cold going around with us (thanks Morgan) that i caught and have yet been able to shake it. So i expect to be back at the hotel as soon as the Kevin Smith Q&A is over. Which should mean another blog update tonight. Followed by a really good sleep.

Day 3 Pictures and Points
July 26th, 2007

Posted by james

Here are pictures from yesterday. Not a whole lot happened. Way to much driving when it came down to it. As for the points things are looking good for benny. He got 6 more last night with just Me, Bill and Morgan putting in, and he may get retro points when the other guys see what he did for them. Morgan, as you know had to talk in that dumb accent all day yesterday. He actually made it 12 hours with screwing up only 7 times i think. So while he didn’t make it, providing he still takes the syrup shoots like a good boy he still gets the points.

Day 3 : Williams, CA -> San Diego, CA
July 26th, 2007

9:48am
So, today is another big day of driving for us. As you all know we stopped over in Williams, CA last night and had a pretty good night all in all. We all were up showered and ready to go just after 9:00 this morning. We have about 8½ hour drive until San Diego, so we are pushing hard to get there today. Morgan has been challenged by Bill to only speak in a really dumb ass Canadian accent for the whole day. If at any point he fucks up and speaks in his normal dumb ass Canadian accent then he has to take a shot of syrup. Which as this point we don’t actually have. So when we do he has to catch up for any mistakes he makes. And I assure you we will do our best to make him mess up.

2:42pm
I wish I could tell you where in the hell we are. I however really have no idea. I can tell you that we are somewhere in California! I think about 2½ hours away from LA. We are hoping to be in San Diego for before 8pm so we can pick up our tickets for the con. If not, no big deal but it would be nice. The Canadian accent challenge that was placed upon Morgan is going well. I think we are up to 3 or 4 shots of syrup right now. He passed out a couple minutes ago but I think when he wakes up we can pretty much chalk up another shot against him. Other than that today has been pretty uneventful. And I can see us all crashing pretty hard tonight so I don’t foresee another fantastic story like last night, which is probably a good thing. I can’t see the police in San Diego being quite as nice as the guy in Williams. One thing is for sure though; it just keeps getting hotter and hotter as we go. Of course we all knew it was going to happen but we could still hope a nice cold front was going to push in, but alas no such luck. Mind you I am pretty well off compared to Matt and Ben. It is fairly safe to say it’s a good 10-15 Degrees hotter up in the cab area then in the back part of the bus.

11:48pm
WE MADE IT!

We are currently in our hotel in San Diego, after a little confusion with checking in. We are heading down to the bar right now. I will get the pictures and point total and some of the music we listened to today either later tonight, or tomorrow morning. And it will be nice and early, we have a 8:00am wake up call.

Day 2 : Portland, OR -> Williams, CA
July 25th, 2007

12:38pm
So we actually managed to get up and get our self’s fed this morning all before noon. For anyone who knows us, that is quite the accomplishment. Matt, the crazy nut that he is actually got himself out of bed at 7:30 and went for a run. Mr. and Mrs. Wiggins, you should be proud of your son. Lord knows we aren’t 😛 The car seems to be running well this morning. We do have a coolant leak that we are getting taken care of in the next couple minutes. And that has been pretty much our day so far. No points have been awarded as of yet. I think we all just want to get out on the highway and get the hell through Portland with very little distractions.

3:53pm
One thing is for sure. Gas is going to cost a little more than I think we originally planned for. Unfortunately it is kinda hard for me to “crunch” the numbers right now. No internet FTL. I think everyone is a little burnt out from yesterday still, here is a quick run down of what people are doing RIGHT NOW:

Matt: Driving
Alex: Hanging out up front with Matt, peering into the distant with his goggles on.
Graham: Occasionally messing around with some time-lapse footage he is taking.
Paul: Talking to Graham about the time-lapse stuff.
Bill: Writing Stuff
Ben and Adam: Playing DS, not sure if they are playing a game together.
Morgan: Sleeping.
Me: Well I am writing in this blog silly 😛

As far as I know we are heading for Sacramento, CA. Mind you I think it is still another 5-6 hours from here and its already 4:00. I guess we will see.

6:49pm
Closing in on Medford, OR I believe. We have had a good time driving through OR today. Adam decided it would be fun to start writing sings on a notebook bill gave him. Wrote stuff like: WE ARE FROM CANADA, HONK IF YOU LIKE OUR BUS (and yes, people did) and other such nonsense. But the fun of it came when we came upon 2 girls most likely around our age. Adam started it off by just holding random signs up, really nothing offensive. But for whatever reason they did not take it in good spirits. Mind you we keep throwing sings up for what seemed like 40 miles we were along side them. They backed off, or we pulled forward but we always met up again at some point and we were right there with a sign. I think they fingered us about 3 times all in all. Good times were had by all. Except maybe the girls in that car 😛 Ladies if by chance you copied down the URL on the back of the bus, and stumbled upon this blog. I would just like to say… A/S/L? If your interested email [email protected] and I will get you in touch with the jackass that was holding up the signs. His name is Adam and he likes sandwiches, minorities and dressing like a scene kid.

We just stopped off at some at some hole in the ground town (no offense) and got some more gas (le sigh) and went to the grocery store and picked up the fixins’ for sandwiches. Morgan cut up some tomatoes and I proceeded to make 8 fucking sandwiches on a bus, moving 120Km/h on the stupid freeway. My back is sooooo sore right now. More to come.

9:34pm
Ok, since that last stop we have successfully crossed into CALIFORNIA! We just passed through Weed, CA, filed up on gas and “fixed” our leaky cooler. We are now on our way to a town just outside Sacramento, CA, where we actually have a hotel booked and waiting for us!

We should be there around midnight or so. At which point Adam is going to shotgun a tallboy and buy a hooker.

This is now Adam writing, and I’m not entirely sure if I have much interesting to say. This trip so far has been fun, but definitely not the symphony of destruction I had originally planned. I know, it’s only the second day…. but this was supposed to be a total whirlwind. Real “end of the world” type shit. Granted, we had some bus problems which definitely changed our plans a ton. I had planned to have at minimum of one or two amazing stories per day, and the first day lived up to that and more. I don’t know what I’m going to have to do inn the next 2 hours. I won’t really have any interesting stories until I can mix it up at some local watering holes and meet some people I don’t know yet.

Take it easy, Internet.

2:15am
So here we are sitting in the hotel room in Williams, CA. Its now closing in on 2:30am and we have to be up in… 5 hours. Lame. Overall we got a lot of driving in today, which was really good. We are planning on pushing onto San Diego tomorrow morning, super early. Today was coming to a close really quiek and as you can see in the post above Adam was getting pretty worried that we wouldn’t have at least 1 awesome story in for the end of the day and boy did we get it. When we got in at 12:30, Me, Adam, Bill, Morgan, Ben and Matt decided to find a bar. When we found out that the only bar in this town was closed we headed for a gas station to buy some beers. On the way to that gas station we passes by a cop (yes this is foreshadowing) and didn’t really think much of it. After we bought our beer, we thought it would be a great idea to go shotgun the beers by this grain silo we passed. Not 2 minutes after stopping there the cop came by and had a little talk with us (stop shaking your head mom) it lead to nothing and the guy was super nice, however the BEST part of the whole thing is he totally didn’t think Matt was even close to 21. When Matt told the officer that he was, in fact 24. His reply… NO SHIT. Needless to say we LOL’D. Now we are just chilling in the room watching Ben shave his legs. Yes, you heard me.

Day 2 DONE!
