LoadingReadyRun is doing a Kickstarter!

UPDATE: The KickStarter is now live! Please check it out, here!

LRR KS 577

If you were at the LoadingReadyRun panel at PAX Prime, you no doubt heard that we had decided to do a Kickstarter now that the service is available in Canada.

While we revealed a few things about what we had planned, we kept things vague in order to make sure everyone found out the full details at the same time, from the same source. Of course, it takes time to set up a Kickstarter and have it approved, so we apologize if you’ve been waiting with baited breath to finally find out what we have planned. Assuredly, we are just as excited as you are!

But guess what? Our Kickstarter is now approved, and we will be launching it on: Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 pm PDT.

To celebrate the launch, and to A any Qs you might have, we’ll also be doing a livestream on our Twitch channel – twitch.tv/loadingreadyrun!

P.S.

It is not to fund a hostile “Yummies Corp” takeover of Wizards of the Coast. There are no reward tiers that involve me getting a tattoo of a butt on my butt. Sadly, there are also no “Kathleen and Graham adopt all of Baxter’s siblings” stretch goals either.

Well, how about that PAX… a LoadingReadyBlog mega-update

Well, PAX sure was 4 whole days. Four very busy, tiring days. Four days that should have been followed by a blog post… Whoops. There were reasons, but I’m back now! Stronger! Faster! Filled with more blood! Covered in fewer bees! It’s an improvement all around.

So, let’s get down to videos. First up today is an Andy-written jem called Munro’s Meats. You can’t beat this meat for… weirdness. As you can see, Jer and I go full cray, and once again, Beej knocks it out of the park playing a confused straight man.

Please note that is a real knife Jer and I are fighting over. Here at LoadingReadyRun, our motto is “safety third!”

Next up, we have this week’s Unskippable, which takes on God of War: Ascension. Although they probably should have called it God of War: We’re out of ideas and REALLY stretching stuff, but please buy this game anyhow. But, in Sony’s defence, the first one rolls off the tongue much easier.

This week on CheckPoint, Graham and Kathleen both try something new. Graham tries a new blazer, Kathleen tries a new hairdo. Meanwhile Keiji Inafune tries something called The Mighty Number Nine, which seems quite familiar and not new at all.

But wait, there’s more! If you didn’t come to PAX, you probably missed two really neat things. First up, the video intro Graham and I made for the Escapist Movie Night. It has it all! Laughs. More laughs. A comfortable, yet sort of ugly sweater. Dank nugdaloms. Did I mention laughs?

And finally, something you really don’t want to miss, the teaser for the next big LRR project! Our friends at Cards Against Humanity decided to help an unpublished board game get made. So they asked us to help film the process and turn it into a documentary! It’s called Tabletop Deathmatch and it launches in October!

Graham and James at the 2013 Magic Community Cup!

Attention fans of Magic (I don’t know where we’d find those around here…) the 2013 Magic Online Community Cup is this weekend!

This year, Community Cup veterans Graham and James return to the action… from behind the desk! On Friday afternoon, Graham and James will be providing colour commentary on the returning fan favourite format… WACKY DRAFT. They’ll also be participating in the fun on Saturday morning. If you like Magic, and want to see awesome folks like Melissa DeTora and Friday Nights guest star Kenji Egashira, this is the event for you.

So, how can you see this? Why, it is being broadcast live from PAX on the official MTG Twitch Channelwww.twitch.tv/magic! You can also read updates on Daily MTG.

Productivity, consoles and drugs… oh my?!

Happy Monday all!

It’s been a busy weekend at LRR HQ as we prep for PAX Prime (more on that tomorrow), but that didn’t stop us from putting out three new videos for your enjoyment!

First up this week is Unskippable. Graham and Paul tackle Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory… and it is… a game? I’m honestly not sure what kind of game it is. They’re thinking about doing a second part, so if you want to see what else happens in this game, head over to the Escapist and let them know! I personally REALLY want to see the second half of this cut scene.

This week’s LoadingReadyRun video Xannathor goes to a surreal place. Written by me, Cam, Paul and James based on a concept by me, it’s certainly one of the odder videos we’ve shot. Also the dog effort to dog onscreen ratio was INCREDIBLY silly. Seriously, 45 minutes of setup and practice for a 2 second shot. Worth it though!

Finally, this week on CheckPoint, we calculate how long that humans… as a collective entity have been playing Plants Vs. Zombies 2 for, and it’s a truly terrifying prospect. So yeah, maybe we could do something better with our time? No? Just mobile games. OK then. Sigh.
