It’s been a busy summer!

Hey everyone, long time no blog. How are you doing? What have you been up to? Have you seen the mountain of content we’ve been putting out lately? No?! Well! It’s time to catch up then!

First of all, we hit the $10,000 tier on our Patreon. We can’t even begin to express how much that means to us here, but your support is amazing and we are so thankful for it. The patreon money has allowed us to do lots of cool things and put in some improvements, AND very relevantly to you, now that we’ve hit the we’re now putting together monthly Loading Time digests. The very first one has just gone up!

As you can see, we’re still super busy, putting out lots of weekly content. We’re still doing CheckPoint every Monday live on Twitch, and if you can’t catch it live you can catch up with it on our YouTube channel.

Feed Dump is also still going strong. We’re up to episode 208(!) and while we did briefly run out of hats, we’re not out of jokes about spiders!

In addition to our regular podcasts, Tap Tap Concede and The LRRcast, there’s also our two new Podcasts — the Magnum Rewatch Podcast with Graham and Kathleen and Fight the Future with Paul and Dan. You can subscribe to both of those on iTunes, but you can also catch them on YouTube now!

Finally, we’ve been putting up lots and lots of Crapshots. So many crapshots.

We’ve seen 8 fantastic games.
We’ve met 12 talented game designers.
We’ve seen 7 judges argue… a lot.

But now it’s time to see which game won Tabletop Deathmatch 2015! The finale is live!

If you haven’t seen the show yet, or you’ve missed a couple of episodes here or there, you can catch up by checking them out on the Cards Against Humanity YouTube channel, or just browsing through the Tabletop Deathmatch section on our videos page.

Once you’ve watched the finale, head on over to our forum and let us know what you thought! Did the right game win? Or do you think the judges dropped the ball?

The Unskippable Finale and Something New!
April 2nd, 2015

Hey Everyone! As you may have heard, Unskippable is coming to an end and Feed Dump will no longer be on the Escapist. You can read all about it here, but suffice to say that Unskippable had a good, long run and Feed Dump will be continuing here on LRR and on our YouTube channel.

This means that this week’s Unskippable will be the last episode ever, and what better way to bid it farewell than with Metal Wolf Chaos!

No need to be a bad enough dude to save the President when he has his own giant mech suit!

On this week’s Feed Dump, Graham takes back the host seat while Kathleen and Alex consider when you should call 911. It’s Knife Time!

FtF-splash-v4Up there in the title, I said there is something new and you know I wouldn’t lie about something like that. The Mystery Box has opened once again and inside we find a brand new podcast!

What if your world, and everything you were brought up to believe, turned out to be a lie – except your feelings for the cute boy or girl you just met? Every 2 weeks, Paul and his brother, Dan, will take an in-depth look at a world portrayed in a Young Adult dystopian movie or book. How did they colour code uniforms in The Giver when everyone sees in black and white? In Divergent, what faction do sketch comedians belong to? These questions and more will discussed on Fight the Future!

The first episode, Dan and Paul look at the world of the blockbuster movie, Divergent!

And on top of everything, we also have some new Crapshots for you!

A Wednesday roundup!

Hey all, blog post is a bit late this week, but that just means I have SO MUCH more content to post.

First up, I hear you like Andy. Perhaps you’d like Andy in a Feed Dump? Well, if that interests you, you’ll probably love this week’s episode Things Get Weird with Andy. Things get really surreal at the two minute mark.

Next up we have ‘small french child simulator’…  aka, the second part of Assassin’s Creed Unity! Thrill as small children slightly misbehave! Also some sort of murder plot happens. I guess that part is pretty exciting.

Also, if you can’t catch CheckPoint live, you can catch up on YouTube. We put the videos up on Monday afternoon, after the show. This week we discuss a clever blood-based marketing campaign, and how concerns over Kojima leaving Konami aren’t actually news.

Finally, don’t forget to watch Crapshots! They go up every Tuesday and Thursday on our YouTube channel. Here are this week’s, in case you missed them.

Leaving The Escapist
March 25th, 2015

Right off the bat, the takeaway from this post is that starting in April, we will no longer be posting content to The Escapist Magazine. The final episode of Unskippable will air on March 30th, and while Feed Dump will continue here and on our own YouTube channel, the last one to air on The Escapist will land on April 1st. No, it’s not an April Fools joke!

If you’d like to know why, read on, because we’d be happy to tell you! We’ve always been super open about stuff like this, and we’re not planning to stop now 🙂

The Escapist came to us and said that Unskippable was not getting the kind of viewership they needed to continue the show. We could either continue the show for less money, or end it. It’s not feasible for us to do Unskippable at a lower rate, so we’ve decided to end the show. The Escapist did ask if we’d consider pitching them a new show, but that’s not something we’re interested in right now. To answer the inevitable question: the Unskippable property is owned by The Escapist’s parent company, and we are unable to continue it independently.

Further, we don’t think it really makes sense for Feed Dump to continue on The Escapist, so we won’t be cross-posting it there anymore. In contrast, we own Feed Dump, so for clarification: Feed Dump is not stopping, we’ll just keep posting it to our own site and YouTube, as we’ve been doing this whole time.

To note: Since we’re not being paid for it anymore, Feed Dump will be added to the bulging list of content that is supported directly by you, on our Patreon. We believe this will all work out fine and (as always!) we hugely appreciate any and all support.

The first episode of Unskippable aired Nov 19th, 2008. Over six years ago! The final episode will be #326. It’s been an amazing ride. Winning The Escapist’s film festival and landing Unskippable was largely responsible for helping us grow into the company we are now. We wouldn’t be where we are without the support of The E in those early days. So this brings us a mixture of weird feelings, but change happens, and it’s time to move on.

Personally, I want to thank everyone in Durham we worked with during the last six years, and all the other wonderful staff we got to meet at The eXpo. Sorry for all the late uploads >_<

So long, and thanks for all the imps.
