Desert Bus!
November 24th, 2014

Desert Bus 8 happened! It happened to you, to me, and to all of us! Also all our regularly scheduled videos went up during and after the event because we’re hardcore like that.

First, let’s talk about Desert Bus. We put up a post-Desert Bus video, as is tradition. With so many people and memes to cram in, we decided to do a sitcom parody this year, but with all-new, original music written by everyone’s favourite professional musicians, Andy and Bradley Rains!

Also of note: You can still buy the DB8 poster and the DB7 photo book for a few more days, if you’re into it.

Proceeds from both items are split between Child’s Play (for charity), LoadingReadyRun (for Desert Bus admin costs) and the artists who created them (Mike Lunsford and Andrew Ferguson.)

Finally we put up a brand new Unskippable today for Murdered: Soul Suspect. This guy has too many tattoos, too many trilbies and (spoilers) way too many bullet holes.

In case you missed it, we also put up the Unskippable episode for Bayonettea 2, Part 2 last week and a Feed Dump that was filmed in the Desert Bus 8 Lunar Module location!

Have I got a new game for you!

Hey everyone! It’s the week before Desert Bus (AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHGHHH!) so I’ll keep this brief.

New LRR video: The New X Games. How do people come up with new X Games sports?

New Unskippable: Bayonetta 2, part 1. Bayonetta is a strong independant lady who don’t need no man, except for the one she has carrying her stuff.

LRRCasts: Have you listened to the second part of cringe stories? Many rockets and some shame.

Friday Nights: Jeskai Mysteries! Cam lost his deck, Graham lost his mind.

Monday Monday Here Again in Tidy Attire
November 3rd, 2014

It’s Monday! That means:

A) Halloween has come and gone, but we’ll be reading listicle roundups of awful costume choices for the next couple of days.
B) November is here. It’s the rainy season in many parts of the world. It is now appropriate to hide links to November Rain everywhere. Feel free to just link directly to the second guitar solo.
C) New LRR videos!

First up this week we have Superficial Intelligence. Sure those new video games have hyper realistic pixel blorp technology, but how is the AI?

This week’s Unskippable is Watch Dogs. Elite Hackmanship can only take you so far you know. Sometimes you need to take it to the next level with elite punchyouinthefacemanship.

And finally, sometimes you just want to watch something cute scary. I tried to be cute in this video. It was awful. Well, for you. I enjoyed it.

New Podcast Subscription Options!

lrr-podcasts

Hey Everyone!

Those of you who are subscribed to the RSS feed of our podcasts may have noticed that its name has changed to Aggregate Feed. Why is this? Well, with Cam and Alex’s Corrector’s Commentary and now our Temple of the Lava Bears D&D sessions, we are putting out more different types of podcast content than ever before and we realize that not all of our podcasts will be relevant to everyone’s interests. We want to make it as easy as possible for anyone who wants to subscribe to only some of our shows, so we have now introduced per show RSS Feeds. If you click on the LRRcast Feed link in the sidebar, you will be taken to the bottom of the podcast archive page where you can click on the links to subscribe to any of the shows with your podcast program of choice or click on the iTunes logo to subscribe through the iTunes Store. You can also use the RSS and iTunes links underneath the player on the individual podcast pages to subscribe to that particular show. The old LRRcast Feed that has all of our different shows together is now called the Aggregate Feed and you can subscribe to it by using the ALL link on the podcast archive page. (if you were already subscribed to to the LRRcast feed, you don’t have to do anything).

You can also find all the podcasts and the aggregate feed in the iTunes Store if you search for “loadingreadyrun”. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to get a special Producer page in the iTunes store that will link to all our shows.

Please email me or let me know in the comments if you have any issues with the feeds or if you have any suggestions that would make following the podcasts easier.

Cheers,

Paul

This is Halloween! It is crap!

A quick readers note for you all. Normally I opened these blog posts with the phrase “Happy Monday.”

I did this for two reasons. First most people dread Mondays, but to me Monday means new LRR videos and that’s why you’re reading this blog. Second, I stole it from Jian Ghomeshi, the host of one of my favourite CBC shows. While I’m feeling a little queasy thinking about Mr. Ghomeshi right now, the show he hosted still proves to be as good as ever. Even if I can’t use the phrase “Happy Monday” without feeling uncomfortable, Q and the CBC continue to be vital to both the arts in Canada and in the world. The point behind this all is no more “Happy Monday.” I’ll have to think of a different phrase to celebrate a dreaded day of new beginnings.

Speaking of celebration, this week’s LRR video is a Commodore Hustle! What happens when the LRR crew wants to get together and have a Halloween party? We all learn a lot of things in Free Candy. Mostly how awful we are.

The exact opposite of learning things is what happens in this week’s Unskippable. Graham and Paul sit through the extremely weird One Piece: Unlimited World Red.  What is happening? I have no clue. Some One Piece fans are a little upset that Graham and Paul didn’t do more research. For my rebuttal, I suggest that making a game totally  incomprehensible to anybody but the most devoted fan is generally bad idea.

Speaking of bad ideas, this week’s CheckPoint is Be A Bread. The Surgeon Simulator team is back, with I Am Bread, and somehow this game is WAY grosser than the game where you rummage around in someone’s ribcage.
