Monday’s update is up, and like Gary, it’s a little late to the party. Check it here.

Sorry about he late update on this one. The whole LRR crew spent the weekend at the Penny Arcade Expo, with spotty internet, and most of our day yesterday was spent on a ferry home. A big thanks to everyone who attended our panel, screening and meetup though! It’s always great to see you guys in person, and we had a ton of fun.

This script has been floating around the LRR office for a while now, possibly since before last PAX. I seem to recall having it planned, and then failing to get it scheduled for shooting in time to make the PAX deadline. On the other hand, I could just be pulling that out of my hat. My memory on the issue is spotty at best. Regardless, we knew PAX was coming this year, and planned ahead to get it shot in time. Of course, Blizzard wasn’t exhibiting at the Expo this year (they had been the year before) so a quick rewrite was in order to make the video fly. For what it’s worth, I think it turned out great. Paul’s always awesome at frantic confusion, and I think he knocked this one out of the park.

This week’s Unskippable may actually rate a my all time favorite. The ending slayed me. I won’t spoil it – just go watch it, then sit there scratching your head.

This week’s video has touched down, and is currently taxing to the terminal. You can find it at boarding gate ‘E’.

This week’s video was a bit of an experiment. WE had this script that we really, really liked, but for whatever reason, the Capitol Region’s Airport Authority didn’t take particularly enthusiastically to a bunch of 20-something amateur film-makers descending (ha!) on their airport, to shoot a bunch of video of their more sensitive operations to publish on the internet. Your guess is as good as mine as to why this was, but alas, we didn’t have a control tower to shoot in.

Since we couldn’t shoot on location, and we knew we wouldn’t be able to fake up a set sufficiently well, we decided to try our hands at the video you see before you. Entirely hand drawn! Kathleen took care of the character art, Alex did the backgrounds, and Graham made it all go. As a result, we didn’t have to set this script to rest as something unfilmable, and you guys ended up with something visually fresh, and different!

Unskippable this week was an advance cutscene from Epic Mickey (a game I’m quite looking forward to.) You can find that update here.

The new video is up! Attack its weak point for massive damage (by clicking here).

This particular video was not just written by Alex, it was written by Alex years ago. We’ve had this script siting on the back burner for ages. We knew that in order to pull this video off successfully, it would need to be executed *just* right. We’d need good costumes, a perfect location, and for the longest time we just didn’t really have the ability to do it up with the treatment required.

Needless to say, when we finally pulled the trigger on it, a lot of care and planning went into getting it just right.

The video was filmed at Graham’s parents’ house, and if I’m not mistaken, the opening shot is of Victoria’s own Craigdarroch Castle. Close viewers will note that the villains in this video are playing a very special variant of poker, as well.

Unskippable today was Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, and well w know how that turned out. Or we don’t but we could find out by clicking here.

Cheers!

ROUND 1! FIGHT!

Well, this video is one of Graham’s creations, and honestly, I think it might be his sharpest script in a while (it’s certainly my favorite among recent videos). The sheer density of references and gags per minute is absolutely off the chart. Fear not though, you won’t have to study up on your fighting games to get what’s going on. If you do, however, there are two super obscure references for only the hardest of hardcore fighting game enthusiasts to enjoy. Let us know if you think you’ve found them in the comments.

Unskippable this week is Jumper: Griffin’s Story. In a twist that is a surprise to no one, this movie-licensed game is not very good.

Canada is Sorry

The new video is up! Sorry if you haven’t seen it yet!

Happy belated Canada Day, all! We’re sorry we didn’t get this up in time for the day itself, and we’re sorry you had to wait until today to see it. And we’re sorry…  well, you get the idea.

In keeping with our yearly tradition of celebrating Canada Day in the most Canadian of ways (read: by taking the piss out of ourselves) we bring you this video, a detailed look at the history and day-to-day use of the word “sorry” in modern Canadian life.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their national holiday of choice, be that Canada Day or Independence Day, depending on your country of origin. If you live in a country that does not celebrate such a day, well, I strongly advise relocating to a country that does. Undoubtedly, barbecues were had, beers were consumed (better ones up north here, though) and fireworks were exploded to the admiration of many. You know you want in on that action.

Oh, also, Unskippable is up, featuring a return to the Lost Planet! You probably ought to check that out, too.

Enjoy!
