There are two new behind-the-scenes videos for you to watch. One is from a few months back:

This is from the shoot for Olympic Beard Growing. You can watch the end product here.

The next one is from last week:

Shenanigans! Jer can do the longest standing-long-jump of the people who were present, at roughly 7’4″. Can anyone do longer? Prove it by submitting a video response!

The Loading Time for the ping-pong tournament is also in the pipe, as are some other behind-the-scenes features, so watch this space for those in the future!

The LoadingReadyRun ping pong tournament is over!

We’re also working on putting together a Loading Time to document the whole tournament, so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

A couple of these videos may be a month or so old, but hey! We like showing you pictures, and you like seeing them, so it’s win-win!

This was a really fun shoot, and I wish we’d taken more snaps. Thanks again to Mr. Tubbs Ice Cream Parlor for the great location.

Really, it’s all about Matt in a luchadore mask. A real one, that James brought home from Mexico! (Yes, we know it’s Rey Mysterio.)

  • And, best for last, a heaping helping of photos from behind the scenes of Redundancy.

This should give you a better idea of what the “set” that is my living room looks like. We’ve also used it in Frozen Assets and Reduce Your Footprint.

A lot of work goes into producing our videos every week, and we always like to give you the opportunity to take a look at our process.

This Loading Time has a slightly different format from others in the past. I hope you enjoy it!

You can comment on the Loading Time in the forums.

The video is up! You can view it here.

I wasn’t actually present for this particular video shoot, so I asked Paul to provide some insight with regards to his inspiration and the video at large. His comments are posted below:

I had the idea of a video showing what happens when you don’t organize your military stereotypes properly percolating around in my brain for a while, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it without showing the various squads. With at least 3 people in each squad and 5 or 6 different stereotypes, actually demonstrating all the problems would require way too many actors to be practical. I have always been a big fan of the “explaining how this silly world works to the confused straight man” structure of sketch (see: Le Cafe, Paper Boy, Economic Stimulus, The LHC, etc), so I realized that the idea would work just as well in the format of a junior officer being reprimanded by his superiors. In some wys it actually works better as the characters can talk about stuff that would be very hard for us to show. I feel that the two officers in this video are somehow related to the two from Emergency Situation, obviously they are not the same guys, but I think they are probably in the same army.

I think it got the point across, but our costuming and set dressing for the captains and the office probably wasn’t entirely believable. I was a pretty big fan of the life perserver on the wall of the navy captain’s office, though. It showed that he deals with ocean stuff, see?
