Happy Halloween!

Halloween is three days away! What does that mean?

Only three days left to lock in your sexy (insert blank here) costume?
Only four days before mountains of cheap chocolate?
Only three more nights of drunken college students hollering down the street at 3:00 am?

Yes! But it’s also time for the annual LRR Halloween video!

This year’s Halloween video is less “spooktacular” and more “Saw franchise” but no less festive! How are modern horror movies made? We don’t actually know, but we’re pretty sure Murdercide is entirely accurate.

Moving on to something that’s horrible for a different reason, this week on Unskippable Graham and Paul take on Beyond: Two Souls. This opening cut scene manages to have nothing happen, and yet have all the events be totally predictable. I’m kind of glad I was able to see this for the first time with Graham and Paul’s commentary, and while the game isn’t good, I think it’d be great for a LRR stream in the new year. If you agree, let us know in the comments.

And finally, this week on CheckPoint, PS4s are very, very expensive in Brazil, games are now REALLY pretty, and stupid people on the internet are getting suckered into a malware scam through a Torrent of Theft. Luckily, it’s very easy to avoid this as long as you have a couple of brain cells to rub together.

The Hero We Deserve! (but do not necessarily need)

Happy Monday everyone!

Are you a citizen in need of help? Are you also some sort of luddite that doesn’t own a phone? Guy with a Cell Phone Man is here to help! He may not be the superhero we need or deserve, but he is very unlikely to get sued for doing this, so that’s something.

This week’s CheckPoint is There’s No Mojo Here, an episode in which we discover a sinister marketing ploy from Sony, a dumb marketing plan from Madcatz, and some silly marketing excuses from Square Enix. It’s basically a standard day at the CheckPoint newsdesk.

And finally, this week on Unskippable, Graham and Paul learn all about Chinese History in Dynasty Warriors 8. Did you know the barrel roll was first invented by a Chinese horse around 193 AD? Thanks Dynasty Warriors!

Happy (Canadian) Turkey Day!

Happy Turkey/Ham/Roast/Meat Feast of your choice day!

Yes, it’s Canadian Thanksgiving, the holiday of family times, togetherness and confusing Americans because it’s really early for Thanksgiving!*

This year, I am thankful for Duchess of Cambridge GIFS, a subcategory of the internet I have just discovered. I’m currently trying to figure out if I can communicate entirely through the medium of K-Midds.

Unfortunately, while I’d be like:

I think everyone else would be like:

Anyhow, it’s also a Monday and that means a fresh new crop of LoadingReadyRun content! First up is our weekly LRR video, Enlightenment Gear. Wanting to achieve total spiritual oneness with the universe… while using the hottest new Android tablet on the market? Mark Sauceman has you covered.

This week on Unskippable, Graham and Paul defy their better judgement and take on Defiance. Personally, I defy you not to think of Spider Jerusalem when you see a certain character in this cutscene.

This week’s Episode of CheckPoint is Just Say No to MOJO, MadCatz has made a horrible mistake, it’s now easier to annoy people in England, and Square is coming for your wallets.

And finally, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that backed our Kickstarter! We’re so thankful for all your support, and for what we’ll get up to in 2013!!

*It’s cold in Canada. If we waited until November for our harvest festival, both us and our crops would all be dead.

The Final Kickstarter Update and Livestream!
October 11th, 2013

We’re just over 2 days from the end of our successful Kickstarter and we are so excited about 2014! Thanks to everyone’s generosity next year will see the return of Crapshots and an all-new D&D mini-series, so get ready for Lava Bees, Bears and whatever other lava-based baddies Jer can think up!

But… why are we ending our Kickstarter on Sunday, October 13 of all days? Simple! We wanted to time the Kickstarter to end on the 10th anniversary of LoadingReadyRun!

Yes, that’s right — the very first LoadingReadyRun video went live on October 13, 2003 so it seems fitting that we do something to mark the occasion, rather than forgetting our about it like we’ve done every other year.

Therefore, to celebrate the combination end of our Kickstarter/10th anniversary we’re doing a special livestream on Sunday October 13. We’ll be taking questions, wearing silly hats and maybe even eating cake, if someone remembers to buy cake.

LRR End of Kickstarter/10th Anniversary Livestream
Sunday October 13, 2013
twitch.tv/loadingreadyrun
5:00 pm Pacific, 8:00 pm Eastern

We’d love it if you could join us!

Happy Monday everybody!

Graham and Paul have been away at the Escapist Expo all weekend, which means today’s video is of course, Ways to Slack Off. Fun fact, today’s update was written and filmed without any input, expertise or moderating influences from Graham and Paul! Can you tell?

Next up on Unskippable, Graham and Paul continue their proud lost planet tradition with Lost Planet 3. Same cold, inhospitable world, but now with cold, inhospitable Nicolas Cage impressions…

This week’s CheckPoint is The Longest Half Life. Some good news:  mods are finally coming to SimCity. As long as they don’t do anything. So that seems like fun. Also Half-Life 3 is still never coming out.

Finally in Kickstarter news, we are now at $162,900! We are SO CLOSE to the D&D stretch goal and we still have 6 days to go! If you haven’t pledged yet, please consider it, and if you have have, thank you SO MUCH for your support!
