Your inner “guy who likes funny videos” implores you to watch this week’s update.

This video was written by Paul, and I think he’s tapped in to a topic with which we can all relate, so enjoy. Keep your eyes out, too, there are a few references in this video that you should be on the lookout for. Keep your eyes sharp.

Big thanks to Cmaeon for the use of their offices for this shoot. If there’s one thing we always need it’s a convincing office/cubicle set – and what better way to be convincing than to use a real offices and cubicles? Thanks again!

Unskippable this week was Vanquish. Check it here.

Cheers!

James Cameron’s Desert Bus

Coming soon, to a computer screen near you: It’s this week’s video.

Sorry about the late blog update, between the end of desert bus, and some serious sickness on my part (I barely got out of bed on Tuesday) this kind of fell through the cracks. In lieu of my own words, I present to you some things Paul had to say, because he wrote the video.

This video actually started with a completely different idea, I wanted to make a video that was a series of trailers for a Desert Bus movie. As I started going through the different movie options (Desert Bus of the Travelling Pants, The Desert BUs Runs Thought it, Field of Desert Bus, etc.), the one I kept coming back to was a parody of a James Cameron film. I have nothing against James Cameron, Terminator and Titanic were great and Avatar was a least fun to look at, but his increasingly ridiculous movie budgets and even more ridiculous box office returns makes him the perfect person to make Desert Bus: The Movie with the silliness it deserves. Once I had the idea and decided to do it in the format of one of those puff piece DVD documentaries, the pieces came together pretty quickly. I was especially happy with the shots of the CG artist working on placing every grain of sand and Katheen’s shot, in which we used a full body green screen to green screen her onto a bigger green screen! How’s that for tricky? I am also proud of how my photoshops of the Terry Gilliam and Stanley Kubrick movie posters turned out.

Unskippable this week was Yakuza 3: Part 2.

This week’s video has pounded the pavement, and come to you to remind you to vote Andrew Shepherd this election! For more information, click here!

This week’s video sees the return of Andrew Shepherd, or rather his ever determined staff, to the campaign trail. Written by fan and evidently long time viewer (considering Mr. Shepherd and crew made their debut in Rapid-fire II) Evan Williams, this weeks video provides some insight into the trials of these two unfortunate workers.

There’s lots of visual gags in this particular video, so i advise you to maintain a keen eye as you watch.

Unskippable this week was Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, and it can be found here.

Additionally, Graham and Paul’s Unskippable: Let’s Play of Legia 2 has been broken into bits, and made available for viewing. Part 1 of 17 can be found here. Additional parts will be made available over the coming weeks. That said, if you’re a member of the Publisher’s Club, The Escapist is offering early access to the full set as a membership bonus, and the whole collection can be found in the premium gallery here!

Cheers!

Mercenary Solutions 3

They’re back! Everyone’s favorite mercenaries Kane & Crowthorne ride again this week’s video.

I hope you don’t mind if I skip the blurb about the video this week, but we have something really cool and important to tell you about: The Daily Drop.

Starting on Thursday of this week, and continuing every single day thereafter, we’ll be posting short videos of something being dropped from ten feet filmed on a professional-grade high-speed camera. That means tons and tons of items meeting their ends in super slow-motion and glorious HD. All of the crew (and Graham especially) are huge fans of the spectacular visuals that result from the violent destruction of day to day items played back ultra-slowly, so when the chance to give this series a whirl came up we jumped at it. Most of the crew has spent the last week pulling 14 hour days to get all the content we need for this shot (we’re renting the camera, those things cost as much as a new car to buy) so we really hope you enjoy the videos as much as we do. They’re simple fun, but man are they fun.

Check out the trailer here, and remember to check the escapist on Thursday when the first item hits the floor.

Unskippable this week was “Warhammer Battle March”, a game I’d actually never heard of before today. You can watch that update here.

Cheers!

This week’s video has touched down, and is currently taxing to the terminal. You can find it at boarding gate ‘E’.

This week’s video was a bit of an experiment. WE had this script that we really, really liked, but for whatever reason, the Capitol Region’s Airport Authority didn’t take particularly enthusiastically to a bunch of 20-something amateur film-makers descending (ha!) on their airport, to shoot a bunch of video of their more sensitive operations to publish on the internet. Your guess is as good as mine as to why this was, but alas, we didn’t have a control tower to shoot in.

Since we couldn’t shoot on location, and we knew we wouldn’t be able to fake up a set sufficiently well, we decided to try our hands at the video you see before you. Entirely hand drawn! Kathleen took care of the character art, Alex did the backgrounds, and Graham made it all go. As a result, we didn’t have to set this script to rest as something unfilmable, and you guys ended up with something visually fresh, and different!

Unskippable this week was an advance cutscene from Epic Mickey (a game I’m quite looking forward to.) You can find that update here.
