LRR Behind the Scenes

As promised, here’s the Loading Time for our move into the Moonbase Mk. III. It took longer to get online that I had hoped, due to some strange upload issues with YouTube and our trip to Boston, but exporting with a different codec (and, unfortunately, at only 720p rather than 1080p) seems to have fixed the problem.

We’re really excited to be in this new place, and we’re also very thankful that everyone helped us find it back after we lost it.

Speaking of that Runners Operation, I should have a winner all picked out by the end of the week, and I’ll share some of the entries with you all when I do. Once that piece of business has been dealt with, next week should bring a new challenge for you all to complete. I’m looking forward to it!

Operation: Get Your Lem On
January 27th, 2010

When life gives you lemons… Force your friends to eat a bunch of them really fast so that their teeth get all squidgy, like we did in this episode of the Iron Stomach Challenge:

Then, after that’s over and you’ve posted the video of it on the internet, encourage all of your fans to do the same thing!

In this Loading Ready Runners Operation, your task is to compete with Lemon Race winner James Turner, who was able to eat fourteen lemon wedges in two minutes.

If you think you’re up to it, we want you to film yourself eating as many lemon wedges as you can in two minutes. A lemon wedge is a quarter of a lemon. You must eat all of the flesh of the lemon wedge. The skin of the lemon must not be removed before you start.

Upload your video (which will preferably be a single shot so you don’t do any trickery with video cuts) to YouTube and post it as a video response to the original Lemon Race video on YouTube.

Whoever eats the most lemon wedges in two minutes will receive mad props and a medal on the forums!

This contest will remain open until midnight PST on Friday, February 12, 2010.

January 31: The first challenger has clocked in!

Tube Men Enter

So this was entirely my brainchild. So if you hated it, go suck on an egg.

Basically the process went something like this:

1. While working a couple weeks ago I came across these very large (roughly 9′ long) cardboard tubes. I was instantly intriqued and my mind started to wander.

2. The first thing that came to my head was the wide shot of both Matt and Tim at a stand still, thats my favorite part of the video.

3. I then story boarded the rest of it and we went from there.

It took a lot longer to shoot than you would think. We are slow and lazy. Here are some behind the scene pictures mapping out how we actually got some of the shots.
