Re: Standard Discussion
@cheetos have you considered adding some form of removal like Utter End to your deck? It could come in handy when dealing with noncreature permanents. On the other note - I just freaking love the current standard meta. With so many cards legal in format before BFZ there are so many possibilities. An...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
The "I'll play what you're playing" deck seems cool It may be exactly what I'm looking for and I'll finally get to play Blatant Thievery, Bribery, Notion Thief, and Villainous Wealth in one deck. Thanks Atifexe

Re: The depressing depression thread
Sorry to hear about your housing situation the_lone_bard *hugs* As hard as it may be to accept help from your friends, it may be a good backup plan if you don't find anything else that suits your needs. I hope everything turns out ok for you. I won't get to play at the prerelease too, because I'm go...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I think I need an intervention. My inner Spike became so dominant I can no longer build more casual decks that aren't focused only on winning. Most of the time I play in tournaments and it doesn't bother me, but in a couple days I'm going to a convention and would like to have a couple decks that ar...

Good Day Sir!
Have you considered adding Savage Ventmaw and Aggravated Assault to your deck for infinite face-smashing?

Re: Standard Discussion
GOBLINS HYYYPEEE! If control gets significantly worse in standard I may come back to my goblin roots. Have you tested playing with any number of the Obelisks of Urd in the mainboard? Is the 2-drop slot too crowded for adding Mardu Scouts? You may want to find place for Roast in the Sideboard to deal...

Re: Standard Discussion
Regarding the thopters - they are colorless so will be quite good with Ghostfire Blade. @square1 there are 4 Stratus Dancers in my UG Company list for the exact reasons you mentioned , you must've missed them while reading the list :) I'm getting worried about the new standard meta with Origins, I w...

Re: The depressing depression thread
Tomorrow I will leave my house for the first time in almost a year to have some social interaction other than playing MTG. I'm really nervous and scared, but also a bit excited.

Re: Standard Discussion
You are not wrong about graveyard recursion showing up more, but I think you may be overestimating it a bit. Both of your ideas look sweet, but in my opinion the Temur deck seems better. I don't know how competetive you want to be, but you may want to consider swapping Yasova for Savage Knuckleblade...

Yeah, Hallowed Moonlight seems like a good sideboard card, it's not only good against CoCo and Grishoalbrand but it also stops Splinter Twin.

Re: Spoiler Season: Magic Origins
http://mythicspoiler.com/ori/cards/vrynwingmare.jpg I am already sold on Magic Origins. The whole set could consist of this single card and I would still be happy. I tend to be a hardcore-casual in Magic, meaning that I play competetive decks, but only the ones I have fun playing. And I freaking lo...

Lately I didn't really have time to visit the forums. Today I listened to the Twitch recording that Lord Hosk posted of Paul singing and just started crying. I thought that things were getting better in my head, but it seems that I was wrong.

Hi CGwonder, welcome to the thread. I can only repeat what others said before me. We all have our own everyday struggles, we are all here, willing to hear others out and even if we can't usually provide soulutions, we can provide support.

Re: Standard Discussion
I'm so hyped for this new black sweeper - Languish . It will fit perfectly in my Espere Dragons deck, between Drown in Sorrow and Crux of Fate. For 4 mana it will almost always kill everything my opponent deployed up to turn 4. EDIT: Oh, and also Clash of Wills ? Thank you WotC, you succesfully brou...

After reading about the Semicolon Project I'm seriously considering getting one tatooed or maybe just getting a bracelet with a semicolon.

A lot of people at my LGS call Path to Exile "Packa" (pronounced Patsca) which means fly swatter in Polish.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Creatures with double-strike deal both first strike damage and normal damage. If they don't have trample and they kill the blocking creature with first strike damage, the normal damage won't be assigned to the defending player. But if they have trample the excess damage will go to the defending play...

Can't believe that Graham missed the opportunity to make a Zoo Race reference, when Sara's "ghost" was running away from Magnum. RACE ME MAGNUM, RACE ME AROUND THE GREENHOUSE. I really enjoy the whole series, I'm planning to buy a DVD set of Magnum as soon as I can afford it.

Re: Standard Discussion
Your deck looks cool, the +1/+1 counters shenanigangs decks always amazed me. You have a lot of cards in your sideboard for the RG ramp matchup, maybe you should move some of them to the mainboard if it's a popular deck in your meta?

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
I'm starting to have problems finding people to play EDH with. At the regular EDH nights at my LGS there are almost only people with stupidly expensive decks I can't compete with unless I spend a couple hundred bucks to buy Force of Will, Mana Crypt and other cards like that. And when I try to play ...

Re: Standard Discussion
fantôme your list is actually really similar to a mono blue artifact/aggro list that regularly puts up top 8 finishes at FNM in my LGS. I recently started thinking about giving up on playing Standard entirely, but I think I'll give it a couple more tries before actually stopping to play it. The meta...

Aww yeah, the sideboard is back. I love the episodes with Serge, Cam and Alex. What Cam said about Rakdos' Return not seeing any play in Standard in not entirely true. Rakdos's Return was played quite a lot in the Innistrad-Return to Ravnica standard in the Jund lists. There was even that one memora...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
Oh man, I always wanted to play Skittles in EDH as a general, he looks so cool and is so powerful, but in a 4-player pod, other players would always team up against me. I think it's much better if you are playing 1v1.
