Re: The Avengers
The story of the bana hulk film is way too up itself, but as a piece of cinema it's very worthwhile to watch. Vastly underrated, imo. Norton's Hulk is much more accessible and fun, and gives us the first taste of Captain America (via a super-serum powered super-soldier), and ties in signficant ways...

Eiko: You'll really hate Doubling when someone plays it with a mob of Planeswalkers. About half of them come into play ready to use their ultimate immediately, most of them with enough loyalty to survive doing so. I've played against a creatureless deck based on that combo that was pretty much unsto...

So the slim thread of hope I've been hanging onto for the past few weeks just turned into a noose. The treatment I expected to be expensive but still affordable turned out to be far outside the reach of an unemployed student. If I asked my father for the money he'd do it gladly, but it would be a co...

Meh, I just reused the term colour identity because it was used before, I've never heard it actually called that before. It might be the 'official' term, but I don't think it's important. When it comes to deck creation you only need to consider one and when it comes to actual game play you only need...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I thought color was determined by the colors in the casting cost of the card, unless the text states otherwise (E.G "This card is white in addition to its other colors"). Yeah, Bump is just black. EDH complicates the colour thing a little though. The cards are still their normal colour bu...

I write, less so lately but still on occasion. My english teachers used to rave over my stories back in school, but since then I've never really shown it to anyone. I guess I'm too judgemental of my own work, every time I reread something I've written I feel like it's not good enough so I file it aw...

Yeah, it's awkward. I find actually using his chest as a pillow is sometimes more comfortable than anything else. Rocket does this. If there’s a simple, non-sexual gesture that can make me feel more awesome I do not know what it could possibly be. So much this. I wish Trixy did it more, but it woul...

I've wanted a tatt since pretty much forever, after reading the Sandman series I decided I wanted the key to hell. Several years later (3-4 months ago now) I got it, tattooed on the inside of my right wrist where I will see it constantly. Was cool, last time I went to a comic shop to buy a magic boo...

4yo deaf child decides he doesn't want to wear his hearing aid anymore, because 'superheroes don't wear hearing aids.' Result? The folk at Marvel sent the boy a picture of himself with Hawkeye, who does wear a hearing aid, and sent him a comic cover for a new hero named 'Blue Ear,' which is what the...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
There are actually a few destroy permanent effects, probably not enough for it to usually be worth putting indestructible on a planeswalker but sometimes it will help. If you're using Gideon, for example, when he switches to a creature he stops being vulnerable to damage but becomes vulnerable to ki...

More Treacherous Pit-Dweller questions. If an opponent in a 3+ player game has control of your Pit-Dweller due to it's ability, what happens when that player leaves the game? If you respond to the Pit-Dweller's ability with some kind of spell or ability that trades control of a permanent (such as mo...

Bought a second AVR fat pack today... have still to pull a single black rare (I main black), but I can't really complain since I got Tamiyo, a Cavern and several other good ones. Angel of Glory's Rise and Herald of War mean the R/W human deck I was considering will probably end up happening, though ...

At a Scissor Sisters concert right now waiting for them to come on. That's pretty win. Also, it's making me about 30-40% more gay. So that's fun. Words cannot describe how much I dislike their music (especially that atrocious cover of Comfortably Numb), yet I Can't Decide is one of my all time favo...

Well, when a mummy and a daddy love each other very much, or are drunk, they give each other special hugs. Sometimes a daddy is alone and has to hug his sock.
I'd put that down, lad.

I'll grant you that the Avacyn combo is better, but it's nowhere near as spectacular as the undying one would be. Have a Demonlord of Ashmouth be your sword waver, with a Blood Artist, Flayer of the Hatebound and a Butcher Ghoul on standby, and it'll do 22 points of damage (plus an extra one for eve...
