Re: The Journey Into Nyx Happy Fun Spoiler Time Thread!

gain 100 life...

has any card ever had lifegain that unconditionally ridiculous? I know there are ones that double your life total, but only if it deals damage to target opponent or something.

Re: IDDQDerp

Much of what alex complains about in thief is the writing and the story, which is straight awful, and a lot of the things that make AAA games really bad - generic gameplay, being forced down action sequence corridors. He's refreshingly coming at it from a perspective of not having played the origina...

Re: Crapshots Ep126 - The Mystical Cards

yeah, it seems like it would be a lot of threads with not a lot in them beyond 'this one is funny' or 'this one didn't work so well' crapshots are so short that there doesn't tend to be much to say about them.

Kathleen's reaction was brilliant. Really genuine, but also really well delivered.

this is probably one of my favourite of these. Brilliant to watch a monogreen deck trample all over everyone!

Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 2

I'd like to see any/all of them, but I voted for Thief this time around because I really want to see how it shapes up. As a new game, i think it would be better to play it as soon as it comes out, rather than wait for it to get older, although some people may be less inclined to agree if they worry ...

Re: Newbie Minecraft Achievements

after working out how to actually play the game, I had a pretty good few days. I made a house out of mismatched wood and then made a mine and dug till I found an amazing cave system that I then spent most of the game exploring, killing thing and mining for stuff in my cave. It was great fun. Second ...

Re: Newbie Minecraft Achievements

so, i downloaded the demo and started playing, but I couldn't do anything. I would flail away at trees and nothing would happen. I even found a chest with a stone axe in and a few other things, but none of them would work on anything, making the game completely pointless. Anyone know if this is a co...

Lycurgus should be pronounced with a hard c, they didn't have soft 'c's in ancient greek. /nitpick

I totally lost it at the shot of the helmet at the end. Brilliant. Also, I love the whole story, so informative!

Re: TTC - BNG Spoilers Round 1

Graham, noooo! Ephara can't draw you multiple cards, because the trigger is just "at the beginning of each upkeep." You only get one trigger, with the condition of whether or not a creature entered the battlefield under your control last turn. Still, pretty cool. although presumably you s...

Re: TTC - BNG Spoilers Round 1

I agree that it's not always a straight up comparison, but actually the majority of them are. At least 7 of the 10 we currently have are directly equal to a well known Greek god. Obviously WotC couldn't just straight up copy all the gods because they don't exactly work for all the colour combination...

Re: TTC - BNG Spoilers Round 1

This was recorded before Phenax was spoiled, but I think they're using MTG salvation (maybe) which has more of the spoiled cards that Daily MTG, for some reason. Also, in terms of flavour, only the gods seem to be particularly flavourful at the moment, although maybe they're just being a little more...

Re: Sherlock Lives

not sure quite how I felt about the episode. There wasn't much detecting, but I don't mind that. A lot of the character stuff with John and Mary was fantastic. The resolution left a little to be desired, as it wasn't really very Sherlock, but then again, him going into exile would have been a really...

well put that man! I was about to say all that, but you got there first ;) If you actually analyse the original Sherlock Holmes in terms of its qualities as works of fiction, they're dross. There's no character development, characters like Moriarty and Adler pop in for once short story and then neve...

Re: The Big Relationship Thread

sounds like a match made in heaven, although sometimes people who agree we each other all the time do not actually make a very good couple, so don't assume that just because you're similar you are instantly compatible. Obviously you might be compatible, just don't raise your expectations to unreason...
