Re: The depressing depression thread
Saying that just because things are better, that's the best it'll be is a false syllogism. Also, for every creative person who has pushed through their depression, there are a hundred who have not. I know a lot of them. And how are you competing with others? If you have ideas for projects, do them. ...

Re: LRR is starting to lose me
On the other side of things, I'm honestly very happy with everything for the last while. The change to the streaming schedule was cool, and it's actually gotten IX back into watching a lot of the streams with me. I'm months behind in the actual streams because I want to watch almost all of them, but...

Re: The depressing depression thread
I know so many people for whom medication worked wonders, with negligible side effects. I know you're scared based on past experiences, but I think the right meds are out there. Proper medication doesn't make you no longer you. It helps you to be you, in fact - like glasses or mobility devices. It i...

Re: Codes of Conduct
Have a good holiday. It was lovely, thanks. I was originally going to take the high road and not bring this up, buuuuuuuuuuut I'm me, and my annoyance from what happened previously overides that. I am goofey, I am silly, I am [can't say that word] with what I say, because I like to make people laug...

Oh yeah. Rooming with people (friends!) whose family paid for college and they had money for a car and fun experiences... yeah. I feel that.

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
I think it's because we often seek to support queer romance and happiness doubly so because it can face such challenges. This isn't to say it's not genuine, it's just also a, "Gotta be real supportive!" sort of moment. Also, on a warmer note, you get to think of how whatever struggle she m...

The following is a guest post in the form of an open letter from Special Olympics athlete and global messenger John Franklin Stephens to Ann Coulter after this tweet during last night’s Presidential debate. Dear Ann Coulter, Come on Ms. Coulter, you aren’t dumb and you aren’t shallow. So why are yo...

Re: You there, boy! Go fetch me Bradley Rains
I know you want to be understood, and you hate being thought of as inconsiderate. BUT. The way in which you are defending yourself here is very aggressive and abrasive, and harming more than it is helping. You think that you've created a neat thing, and that's wonderful! Bradley made some very good ...

I mean, you could talk about how a lot of people with vaginas are into both anal and vaginal play so the same fingers/implements could have been in both over time, but... yeah. :/ That sucks.

Re: Codes of Conduct
I'd say that's a fine use since it's a historical context and there's no other word. As long as it's clear you're using it to describe a historical thing and not using it in a derogatory way, it shouldn't be an issue. I'm also from NA, though, so I can't speak to this particular instance.

Codes of Conduct
So we've had discussions about what words to use and not to use, both here in the forums, and in general. Now, as far as the forums go, rule one is be polite: http://loadingreadyrun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13361 We don't always stick to this rule, but I think we for the most part try. And ...

1) Just because the "real world" is cruel doesn't mean we can't work to make it nicer. 2) I said take it to a new thread. This is my last warning.

I mean, to some extent that might be wise, but I can't fault you at all for trying to voice your beliefs but being afraid of conflict. I've struggled with it for a long time as well. I know you, dude. I know you can get there if you want to.
