Not to mention that, regardless of the authenticity of her views, they're being published by a reasonably well-respected newspaper either way.

Empath, I really wish I could believe Wente was a troll that's didn't believe what she wrote. Maybe I'm just gullible. However, even if this is "baiting," I think there's still plenty of reason to be pissed off about it, considering what she's writing reflect the views of some people. Whil...

Getting into Fallout
Hey folks,
A couple months back I got through System Shock 2, largely thanks to your advice. I've determined it's time for me to get through Fallout, so again I am seeking your advice. Recommendations as to stat/skills builds? General tips?
Cheers,
Firbozz

Re: Feminism general thread
While there are a lot of issues with alternate pronouns ("xe" and "xyr" is another pair), the issue that "s/he" brings up is that it equates to "he or she," which exclusive of people who do not identify as exclusively male or female.

"Consent" is not carte blanche. Just because someone's consented to one thing now does not mean they have consented to the same thing again later, or to an escalation.

We're not saying use gender-neutral words when we KNOW they would like a gendered term. We're saying use a gender-neutral word in the absence of someone stating a preferred (gendered) term.

Re: Feminism general thread
I believe in feminism as an important and meaningful movement, but I hesitate to identify as a feminist. I hesitate because of how little action I take.
