That's one thing I do like about the overall style of QTEs in Quantic Dream's games. I don't think there are any real ways to 'fail' the QTEs. If you do 'fail,' then your character just fails the action and the story continues on. I also feel that, when QTEs are a common occurrence and you know when to roughly expect them, they aren't nearly as bad. It's just the random ones that come out of nowhere and kill you that piss me off. RE4 had this problem in some areas, specifically times like when Krauser shows up. In other words, when they're a part of normal gameplay rather than a sudden way to check and make sure you're paying full attention to the game, I find QTEs to be a decent enough gameplay device.
