Re: LRR Minecraft Server
I've been doing that type of thing for LRRcraft, so I can take a look if y'all want.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Personally, I'm in favor of a new map with 1.9's eventual release. That's still some time off, though.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
AFAIK, the only changes with Map generation in 1.9 affect the End only.
I would go #2 personally.

I'd be rather upset if we had to start all over, but I would understand. It'd be nice to try for some of the other options first though.

If #2 would actually help, I vote for that one. It seems like the least troublesome, all things concerned.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
If we reset for 1.9, any chance we could throw a couple of mods on it?
Re: LRR Minecraft Server
So I went and looked this up, and fund this: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/105690/random-parts-of-map-on-mc-server-dissapear-reset
Even though it's a few years old, it seems to imply that it's not a map issue. Seems the fix would be to install an auto-save plugin, or peridoically run the /save-all command

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
You are NOT running the /save-all command? That would seriously be an issue.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Okay, I have a general Minecraft question if people can help. I'm trying to run the YaoPack from Technic Launcher. It's a single player instance, so should be no server issues...
And yet it is laggy as... something extremely laggy, and sometimes even crashes. (They recommend disabling the Shader mod, which I've done.) I've turned down graphics and render distance, but it still has problems.
Anyone dealt with this pack or have general advice about dealing with laggy SP?
(I've had to switch it to easy just to stop mobs killing me when I can't even turn to face them!)

If we ever do reset again, I would again suggest that the spawn point be moved to x0:z0.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Do you mod frequently and this is the only one you're having trouble with, or are you new to messing with mods? Open your task manager so you can keep an eye on resource usage; I don't know the particular pack, but modded MC can be especially memory intensive, so allowing it to use more RAM may help.

New to using mods... and it is hogging the hell out of my system...
I thought I had a decent new mid power machine.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
If you want to play modded Minecraft, I strongly recommend you see about getting a 64 bit version of Java. When I made the swap, I was suddenly able to play with twice as many mods before experiencing issues.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
I am running 64 bit. Although I'm not sure the Technix pack is using it properly... the AT Launcher is.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
How much RAM does your system have available, how much of it is MC currently allotted, and how much is MC currently using?

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Anyone else up for a modded server? I'd be up for it if the mods include FTB's chisel mod and Mr.Crayfish's Furniture Mod. A mod that allows blocks to be tinted colors would also be appreciated as well.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Modded may be revisited by me.
Maybe try the Modsauce 2 pack, it has quite a few mods which may be fun.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
So...
since the interest of the minecraft server seems to be a bit down latetely I tought I would use this thread to suggest something similar. Have anyone tried Starmade? Its pretty much minecraft in space with some really neat things.
It has an extensive build helper that saves you a lot of tedious block counting.
It has a very advanced logic system that puts the piston system of minecraft to shame and allows you to more or less build transformers!
The ships can be quite massive and its not significantly harder to run than minecraft (They actually do regular oprimizations unlike another game we know) and it is free for now.
The only issue is that it is quite dull to play in single player(in the same way minecraft gets a bit barren in singleplayer) which is why i suggested it here.
Since there is a server that is currently seeing very low usage (There might be more in the US since I cant see those people and then fair enough) one could consider running a test run for a month or so to see if people like it and if not just go back to the reqular server?

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
LRRcraft has been down since last year. LRRMC has been up I've been told.
Once I get my life sorted out, I'll get the LRRcraft map sorted. It's like 85% done.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Wait, what? The server is completely stopped! That site is on the same virtual server as the game! It shouldn't even show up! *very confused* How on earth is that displaying when the whole server is offline?
