[edit] Actually, this discussion doesn't really belong here. I'll make a new thread for it, so people can discuss the actual videos in peace...

Also wow I'm glad the draft happened without problems considering the massive MTGO crash that occurred a couple hours later.

Fun looking Boros deck we had. Well, as fun as a Boros deck gets. It does tend to be pretty mindless "play guys beat face" kind of fun. I'm sure the Dimir mill deck was more fun to actually play

Watching the Borzhov draft. You guys should have gone all-in on cackling perimeter. You got enough gates passed to you, a couple perimeters, and some other fun stuff.

Though, I'll note that you mentioned in passing that having 3 gates and 2 Crackling Perimeter would let you ping for 6 a turn... unfortunately that's not how it works - you can still only tap each gate to activate one of the Perimeters, not both. Having a second Cackling Perimeter in play doesn't actually help you at all, they don't stack like the Spheres of Safety did.

So for that deck you only really want maybe 2 Crackling Perimeters, and then go all in on finding as many gates and Greenside Watchers as you can. And since you're already grabbing those, you may as well also prioritise Verdant Haven and try to build the n-colour ramp deck with your remaining cards.

Unrelatedly, pronouncing the "Undo" key as "Control-Zee"? Major misplay there, I'm disappointed in you.

Goodness I think that might actually make Cracking Perimeter the worst Gate related card so far o_O

Sadface. Excellent Borzhov deck though.

... Now I want to make a Cracking Perimeter deck. 40 gates, 4 perimeters, 4 fog banks, 4 Gatecreeper vines, 4 Hover Barrier, and 4 Door to Nothingness.

Edit: Actually, swap the vines out for some axebane guardians.

Was Graham channeling Eddie Izzard when pronouncing "maneuver" in this draft?

EDIT: Or maybe I could watch the latest Twitch draft where he says that is exactly what he is doing. Yep.

I would think you would want Greenside Watcher for extra damage, Guardian of the Gateless and Hold the Gates, I wouldnt do door to nothingness, its funny but ehhh.

so 4 perimeters, 4 fogbanks, 4 hover barriers, 4 greenside watchers, 4 guardian of the gatless, 4 hold the gates, and 4 of each gate except Rakdos since you dont need black and only need 1 red the entire game.

Door To Nothingness isn't meant to be funny in this case, it's meant to be an alternate win-con. In case you don't draw into Perimeters or you can't do damage fast enough/face life gain. The mana you get from Axebane, combined with the wide variety you get from having every gate, makes it pretty easy to have enough to Door2Nothingness your opponent (at least compared to normal). This also has the added benefit of giving you a bunch of relatively solid blockers.

However, I do agree that taking out the Rakdos for Hold The Gates is a good idea in either case. Your version does seem better for going all-in on the Perimeter plan too. I just prefer having the secondary plan just in case.

Getting all the slime makers out made me happy on the last round. Though I'm not sure where the second round went. It's like it didn't even happen. :P

Did I miss something, or did LRR forget to do a draft #22.

Yeah, but hadn't they done sealed in some of the Academy videos before as well?

So, I have been thinking and have one question and one suggestion (as such).
Question: What happens in drafting online when you don't pick a card and it times out?
Suggestion thing: A draft where you don't pick a card ever (but let the audience know which ones you would have wanted) and then play with what has been picked.

If the client times out it picks a random card from the pack.

To be fair, going all random might be too harsh, as the pool might not be salvageable. But I do believe I heard an idea once of letting the entire first pack time out and then start picking cards to see what happens.

I´m pretty sure the deck would be horrible, but I can imagine the commentary would be great.

That happened in one or two of LRR's drafts, as I recall. Once it was about a pack and a half, and the other time I think it may have been the entire draft. It didn't end well.

Nahh, just alternate each time, odd then even, for the third pack. Makes it funnier rather than actual planning as such.
