NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
It's a brand new video and I think it's great!
Paul wrote this one, presumably after a weird gaming session. Enjoy Superficial Intelligence.

Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
It was smile territory for most of the video...
Then...
"Aww... Look at his little butt!" Actually laughed at that one.

lol
Love the concept of this. Ive played plenty of bad games like that before but never thought of thinking about it the way Kathleen's character did.
Great costumes for this one as well!

Why do I get the feeling Paul has been playing Destiny?

Probably referencing a lot of things. Aliens on heads for example made me think headcrabs from Half-Life.

Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
Releasing a video during PAX Aus? That's messed up, man.
Still, now that I've finally been able to catch up on everything, thoroughly enjoyed it. It still doesn't excuse crappy programming, but at least now I have this extra point to ponder before jumping straight to blaming crappy programming. I still will, but it's the thought that counts.

Yeah, this got an extremely painful chuckle out of me (for a very loud laugh), mostly because this exact argument came up today almost word for word.

Man, you all seem to be enjoying Alex's (or whoever) new toys. I approve. Great video.
Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
Love the the Half-Life music at the beginning!
But I have to ask - I know Valve aren't douchenozzles and won't go all "GRBLGBLG DMCA TAKEDOWN!!111oneone" on you - the use of Half-Life music was intentional, yes? Is it public domain at this point? Did you guys check?

Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
Yeah, I was wondering if that was actual music or if Bradley made sound-alike music.

Bradley Rains is credited with the music so I assume he made sound-alike music.

Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
I am amazed how concerned I was about Kathleen's lack of gun safety in this video. Shuttup self! It's a video inside a video game.
No matter what I say there is a 40% percent chance I'm not being serious, and if I sound like I'm not then I probably am.
Re: NEW VIDEO - Superficial Intelligence
I was waiting for the "They get bit while they were talking and that was the aliens' plan all along" to happen.
I was so happy when it never did.

This happened to me too. I know it's a prop, but seeing Kathleen wave around a gun while handtalking was making me worried for the integrity of Graham's skull.

Meanwhile, just over the hill, the Non-linear Anti-Baryon Spire nears completion.
In the ScentMind, one Thoughtform says to another "I really didn't think the hologram decoy would work that well. How could they fall for it 34 times? They just vanish, and look completely alike!"
In any case, Loved it. I may have a new favorite video.
Incidentally, this is why people complaining about the Reapers in the Mass Effect series drove/drives me friggin' Insane.

To be fair, she never had her finger on the trigger.

Watched it again yesterday. Seeing Kathleen in camo, waving around a gun really makes me miss Kane and Crowthorne.

I was actually waiting the entire episode for her lack of trigger discipline to result in her shooting Graham's character and her making some comment about how she was programmed to respond that way.

Man, smells like /k/ in here...
But great vid - so good that it had me sucked in so deep I was constructing rebuttals to Kathleen's arguments (beyond Occam's Razor ) as she was making her 'they're alien and not like us' case...and then Graham uttered them all.
Funny vid, with a nice subtle jab, too. Thanks for this!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who realized this.
I'm slightly concerned how well I can recognize Paul with a shambling walk and a bag over his head, though.

I really thought that was alex the whole time.
-checks video credits-
Welp, guess I was wrong.
Still feels more like an Alex character to me, though...

Yeah, I thought it was Alex until the credits, too.

This feels like the conversations me and my friends have while gaming and I loved it. woke my partner up by chuckling in bed.
