The concept was totally Graham's idea. He explained it to me, and set up that he wanted it to be set in a mall. Then he came up with a list of characters (I think the only ones we added in later were the mall walker and the record store clerk) he wanted to have in it and went "hmmm. Why is this guy in prison? What happens?".
I came up with the basic plot (yes, it is absurd, that's how you can tell I was involved, I guess) and we wrote it all out in like an hour.
Once I came up with the idea of a shower of lobsters and crabs so we could have the frat boys singing "rock lobster", it kind of wrote itself.
HOLY SHIT GUYS! BEARS!
Nate finally got a speaking part!
We're gonna need you guys to identify where the locations were. I recognized Graham's loft-attic, but that's about it. Toronto was presumably also involved.
Loved the name of Graham's foodcourt workplace.

Yeah, I had written about a page and a half, involving the giant globe thing, and got stuck. So when Kathleen started stream-of-consciousness-ing the rest of the plot (fire, flood, lobsters) we scrapped what I'd written and re-wrote from Go.
Making sure the edits were tight enough and sounded smooth enough was tough, but shooting was much tougher.
Going to so many different locations for what amounted to twelve 10-minute shoots was murder to organize and arrange. Finding places willing to let us shoot was another thing.
Kathleen was shot on the weekend, Alex did his in Toronto and we did Jer, Bill and Nathan here on Thursday. Everyone else was shot on Wednesday between 4:00PM and 11:00PM.

I loved it! This could be one of favourite videos you guys have ever done. I noticed a couple people saying they had trouble following the story but I had no such problems. As soon as Matt said "The Final Countdown" I knew that Adam and Ben would have to sing it, I don't think I know the song "Rock Lobster" though. I thought Jer did a really good job, Andy was great (as per usual), I really like James as Officer Rodriguez and I thought Paul did a really great job as the pompous artist.
God damn I hate "The Final Countdown."

My biggest kudos go to Kathleen and Morgan. Their performances really stuck out to me as being awesome. Certainly not to discount anyone else, as the acting here was tremendous.
I had really hoped to hear more of the Rock Lobster song too. Also would have loved it if James talked like a RCMP officer in interviews on TV, with a deep voice and no emotion to even the silliest things. Doubt it would have been entertaining, but may have liked to see it.
My lol point: when Andy and Morgan began to banter back and forth, it was great.
Btw Paul, new hat? Surprised we haven't seen it yet.

This one was awesome! I was reminded of a sketch Olde English did in the same style: http://www.oldeenglish.org/podcast/funny-face (Your version is superior, of course!)
All of you guys were hilarious, but I cracked up consistently every time you cut back to Paul's character.

Trivia question: has there ever been a LRR video with more people in it?
The 2004 Holiday Special had 13 people, counting Gibb. I think this one only had 11.

I dunno, Graham. The LRRWiki only lists eleven, and it's a pretty reliable source.
The data section on the site video page also only lists eleven people. Who are the two uncredited ones?

Matt and James
Even Detective Riley could have solved that one.
