It could also be seen as Jer having split personalities, each with its own psychological disorder of sorts. Also, this is not meant to offend anyone, but it's funny how it actually works out.

"Joie de vivre" Jer = Attention Deficit
    "Charisma" Jer = Nymphomania
    "Gullibility" Jer = Naivete
"Latent Homosexuality" Jer = Psychosexual Repression
    "Depression" Jer = Clinical Depression
"Sense of Humor" Jer = Mania

    AND

Regular Jer = Dissociative Identity Disorder (which is the actual term for split personalities)

I love this.

Also, Jer played the latent homosexual a LIIIIIIIIIIITTLE too well, cuz it had me feeling kinda bad for him. You have something you would like to share with the class, friend?

Oh come on, what man isn't gay as a fruit leather over James?

This for some reason gives me an idea for a new slogan

"LoadingReadyRun: Sketch Comedy You'd Go Gay For."

this had me on the floor laughing.

Hey! Corax!
The references are only about 50% in there for you guys, we like them to.
Also, no one says you have to look for them, or even get them... just ignore them.

Great sketch, but I demand camera movements. ;-)

Y'know, the more I watch this video, the more I like it.

There's still too much of a predictable pattern. The scenes with Depression and Paul are among the best precisely because they're so difficult to anticipate.

The video was better than okay - it's good.

I personally LOVE handheld over tripod shots, but we were kind of tied down to it this time, because of the effects.

Speaking of effects, how did you make Jer seem transparent, without making the people in the shot with him transparent?

I agree with what Pious said, actualy; the bits seemed a bit predictable, except for the bit with Paul and Depression.

It's still entertaining!

I am at least 98% sure that it involved filming the scene many times and building a composite take - hence the need for a tripod.

"Solid" people would be taken in one shot (or series of shots), then while keeping the camera utterly stationary, the "transparent Jer" series of shots is taken. The two are composited over the other, with the "Transparent Jer" shots at reduced opacities - things that are stationary (Furniture, rooms) appear unaffected while objects in motion (Jer) appear to be the semi-transparent.

Thats what I was thinking as well. Complicated to get the speaking parts right (timing, distance apart, etc.) but it'd work.

Close, but not quite. We were actually slightly more tricky than that.

Great skit. It showed the many sides of the human psyche. That there is much more to us human beings than what is shown on our exteriors. I thought it was really, really, really deep........

I liked it.

Graham, great sensi of the FCP, please reveal to the masses your editing techniques. Thank You.

i love comedy companies that put in references just because they think its funny, not because it will make the audience laugh.. makes it much more funny and alot more hard to pick!

They'd only need to shoot the actors separately when there's two Jers. If it's a transparent Jer and a different actor, they'd shoot them together, and put a 50% opacity shot of the empty background on top of Jer.

There's also probably some split-screening going on, as a simple overlay would put the "empty" background on top of everyone else in the scene.

Yes, you'd need to crop the overlay so it only covers the transparent people; I guess I didn't say that.

Weird Al was in Victoria for a concert (which I went to and it was insanely awesome) and the crew was there, and they stuck around after the show for the autograph session and managed to get him to do a site plug. Which is awesome.
