Rapidfire II - 04
It got pushed a few weeks because of the season finale, season opener and Halloween special, but we haven't forgotten our friend, Rapidfire!

Ooo new interface!
And it has full screen view! Yay!
So many awesome things I can't name them all right now, the Jer skits were great.
I think there's some laughter audible at the start of Jer VS Hobo-Morgan, and the Library meets Sssssh Guy was very unexpected.

1) Shush Guy isn't Shush Guy without the beard.
2) You cannot tell me that that is not a reference to Door to Door.

It looks like Graham starts laughing at the end of the first Andrew Shepard clip.
Low quality Youtube sketches? Amazing!

LRR has really nailed the Rapidfire format. These just keep getting better.
If I recall correctly Jer doesn't drive which makes those scenes even funnier. Unfortunately the lead-up in that story was funnier than the final punchline. Ending it on "We thought you were going to leave us at the alter" would have been better than explaining the rest of the situation with "Seriously though, we're gonna sacrifice you."
I believe this is the first occasion of the three hoodlums who hang out in front of the school actually talking, which was a surprise. It was like "Surprise!" and then Zing Zang Zowie! with the arrival of Kathleen & Shush Guy. I have to agree with an above comment tho', he's not the same Shush Guy without the stubble. That small degree of unkemptness gives him an extra layer of creepiness that's perfect for the character.
I like how the pick-up line dude has been getting more & more inebriated throughout the series. His lines just keep getting better.
The Andrew Shepard bits are still funny but I'm enjoying the antics of the campaigners outside his headquarters even more. It's great silent comedy.

Matt
I thought he was going to be sacrificing someone as an initiation ceremony. What was with the costumes in this one? What the hell was Kathleen wearing in the Library stetch? Or Morgan in the window washer one I loved the fact Professor Paul's jacket was the same colour as the concrete wall. I liked this.

You and Matt (and other, I'm sure) agree on this.
I completely understand why you guys do, by the way, I just disagree. I think ending the video on "We thought you were going to leave us at the alter" felt lacking. I think it either needed the additional aside, or should have ended with the sword and "It's your special day."
But that's comedy for you.

This.
Unless I'm wrong, of course.

Sure, it was a long way to go to end on a pun, but "leave us at the alter" is a good pun & makes you think. I was like "Huh? Oh. OHHHHH!"

Regarding the ending, that's an awfully long way to go for that pun. Does this mean Graham has to put himself on a time out?
slept funny?

Touché.
And after watching it again, the "I was supposed to be there at sundown" line really does set us up for something other than a wedding.

I see your point, but I feel like the joke is as obvious as it is solely because the stanists have been set up before to look that way. The sketch is more neat and self-contained this way; it's recursive, but funny independently of extensive background.
Anyhow, this is neither here nor there, but another explanation sketch or FRIDGED! might have been well-appreciated. You did, after all, appear to have the necessary actors available.
Did you expect James's hat to go that ridiculously far?

It might be a little bit awkward that the Stanists meet in the basement of a Jehovah's Witness's church.
Very well done, this one, although the *crunch* of grinding gears when Jer was driving made me wince. Why do people not know how to drive standard?
Shush guy continues to impress. He reminds me a little of Senor Cardgage. I think he should be modified with a sloppy comb-over.
Also, the three hoodlums searching scientific journals? Interesting. I hope that goes somewhere. Or was there a joke there I didn't get?
