October Forum Contest: Pumpkin Carving!

Postby Kathleen » 09 Oct 2010, 11:32

So, it's my favourite time of the year - FALL!

That means pumpkin carving! We've had some threads on custom pumpkins before, so [s]let's steal that idea[/s] bring them back because they're awesome.

Post a picture of your best pumpkin carving effort by October 31st, 2010 - the LRR crew will judge the coolest looking pumpkin and the winner will get a custom forum rank and a the $12 t-shirt of their choice.

The runner-up will also get a custom forum rank!

The pumpkins don't need to be LRR themed, but they should be interesting, nerdy or cool.

Here's some inspiration!

I'm definitely going to have nightmares tonight. If I can even get to sleep, that is...

Good thing the contest isn't for the scariest pumpkin, because nothing would be able to compete with that.

Ooooh! I love pump-a-kin carving. Do the entries have to be carved fresh this year? I have a couple photographs I don't believe I could duplicate, even if I carved the same designs for this contest.

Someone should tell Sable about this, he's done some amazing pumpkin carvings in the past, as I recall.

Yes yes what I'm here yes hi.

I'm in Arizona now, so probably no fire this year.

I have other plans, though.

Jim, your previous pumpkins are awesome, but it seems like these ought to be fresh.

Moldy: Covered with a fungal growth that causes decay, due to age or damp conditions.

So she used the US spelling instead of the UK spelling. The world is becoming a flatter place, very few things can be called "unique" to any particular area anymore. Within the context of an internet forum, particularly one based out of the New World, it is perfectly valid for her to spell the word that way.

I have decided that if no one wants to win this outright, then they should NOT carve their pumpkin to show the Old Spice guy on a horse with the words "I am on a horse."

Hint, hint...

She has brought shame upon our once great nation with her desecration of our godly tongue. Or it was a typo.

I too, have an interesting idea. Sainsbury's isn't selling pumpkins yet though.

I just bought a pumpkin, an Atomic Age washbasin, an aquarium pump, a jigsaw and 75 glow sticks.

WHAT COULD IT MEAN

They seem to sell 'Halloween Pumpkins' (at vast expense) in Australia so I might make an attempt.
