Re: Confessions of a 20-year-old Crossdresser
I've occasionally read these forums for a couple years now, but today I found this thread and it inspired me to actually register. There aren't enough places where crossdressers get love.
For the record, I'm a trans woman (transitioned something like a decade ago), but crossdressers are great in my book. Whatever you want to do that doesn't hurt other people, right? K, you look great in all the photos you've posted. More power to ya!

Re: Confessions of a 20-year-old Crossdresser
kinda late to this party but i wanted to give my 2 cents. I think its amazing that you feel you can admit this to people. Life is too short and too horrible at times, to waste a single minute being something other than yourself.
So many people feel they have to hide so much of themselves from the world because they feel they have to conform to societies idea of normal. that makes me sad. one of the great things about humanity is how incredibly diverse we are as a species and i wish we lived in a world where people could be themselves. if you are not hurting anybody then all power to you.

I don't think you understand how happy I am that we have gender minorities on the forums now. I may post something more coherent when I've stopped dancing around in circles.
Also, welcome!

I figured with all of the sexual minorities it would be a matter of time, we're quite the rainbow here.
(I also echo the welcome, hope you enjoy yourself here, I know I do.)
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.

Kevin. That dress is beautiful and you look lovely in it.

You'd be surprised. The one argument I ever started was a couple years ago when I tried to bring up trans issues, and some people were... less than receptive. But they don't post here anymore, so it's cool.
I think we've been growing more accepting as a forum, as evidenced by the fact that people feel like they can share these things.

Yeah, I'll admit, those trans arguments made me furious, and I don't get angry all that often. I think those posters like to argue when talking about the abstract, though, and would try to be more considerate if they knew they were talking to trans individuals. Still made me furious.

Good to hear. Yeah, I didn't jump right in and start posting when I discovered these forums because some of the discussion rubbed me the wrong way, a bit. Things seem to have improved.Psyclone wrote:That was one of my first interactions here, and I almost didn't come back. But things are better now! Don't let us scare you off

I hope that they have at least given you some ideas to go with. So here's some questions for you to consider:
Traditional vs Non-traditional?
Specific to any ethnic background (Irish, German, Japanese, etc)?
Old-Time vs Modern?
Similar to any celebrity?

So...when I first posted this topic, it was a means of being honest with myself and everyone else because I was sick and tired of lying to the world around me. And now I'm going to do it again.
When I first posted this topic, I was sure that I wanted to be male for the rest of my life. Now...well, I'm less sure of that fact.
I'm not rushing to any decisions. I'm not jumping straight into being female or any other kind of gender you wanna pick, but the option has been opened, and I don't have a good answer for the question.
At the end of the day, the question seems a whole lot bigger than myself, and I'm not sure what to do about it. These forums have been nothing but amazing to me so far in coming to terms with who and what I am, so I'm making this post to hear all of your lovely thoughts.
I have changed my name like 3 times on this forum. Guess who I am!

Re: Confessions of a 20-year-old Crossdresser
It's a big step, but if you want to castrate yourself, that's your choice.
Now, at the beginning of the thread, you were saying it wasn't about wearing these clothes around others. If it still isn't, then I don't see the point in transitioning.
However, if your feelings have changed since the beginning of the thread, try wearing the stuff around others. See what reactions you get. More importantly, see how you feel about it yourself. That will be the biggest key. If you're like "No, I don't want to do this" then that's a big sign. If you're more like "Well, if they have a problem with it, it's their problem, not mine" then that's a big sign the other way.

Well, in any case, if you make any decision, do it slowly, so you can back out if you feel like it was a mistake at any point.

Re: Confessions of a 20-year-old Crossdresser
The important thing is to know yourself and think things through. That can happen quickly, or it can happen slowly. Speed isn't really the issue; self-knowledge is.
And, by the way, let me know if you need any resources about trans issues (of whatever sort: transsexual-related, crossdressing-related, etc.). I know a few.

Also, most importantly: LOVE YOURSELF FIRST. Transitioning is expensive, so you shouldn't do it because you want to MAKE yourself happy. You need to be happy to begin with, and then getting it done would make you happiER.
