Thought I'd try starting a little thread on Only Connect, as I'm sure there must be other runners who'd enjoy descussing using it.
For those not in the know, 'Only Connect' is a BBC quiz show based on connected pieces of trivia. It's kind of an enormous lateral thinking puzzle, hosted by Victoria Coren-Mitchell (ex pro poker player and current wife of David Mitchell). The questions range from bizarre and hilarious, to obscenely difficult and esoteric. I've often thought Kathleen would enjoy it, because of the huge range of trivia knowledge it draws upon.
It broadcasts on Mondays, BBC2, 8.30 and is well worth a look for those who can.
Here I figured we could reflect on past episodes, as well as the most recent ones(?). I figure it's that sort of show.

Re: Only Connect, anyone?
I always found it strange they don't film it in front of the audience.
Victoria would make a very funny joke and no one laughs. It's very awkward when that happens.
The show goes beyond my head. I'm not good at it, but I like to watch the celebrity versions if they have certain people.

I have watched them all, as i found a youtube channel that has all the episodes.
I am extremely impressed by the knowledge of the panelist, i can sometimes guess connections before the panelist especially in the early rounds but the width of their knowledge is impressive.

I'm the same, I get most of my good answers in the early stages of the competition. The finals and semi finals are insanely difficult, though, particularly in season one and two.

I have thought a couple times about pulling a team together, really need to make sure you've got people experienced in different areas of life and culture though.
