Me in front of my fridge this morning: "Time to make cereal! I'll just get out this half gallon of totally not expired milk and.... FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

Please, if you're wearing skintight drainpipe jeans, at least pull them tight to yourself, no matter if you're as flat as a goddamn plank, because then at least it doesn't look like your ass is sagging horribly. :?

Dearie me, your pompousness and prentention, even when you try (try, oh so hard) to be sincere, is breathtaking.

I'm suddenly reminded why I take such a visceral pleasure in things going badly for you.

I hope your problems, clerical, social, and medical, continue to plague you into the far future.

Kisses!

Well, you're an attractive, confident, successful artist, with a thriving relationship, and you hold several opinions I disagree with.

How could I not despise you?

Ok, I know it's 7 now, and it's been a good 10 hours since it happened, but:

FUCK YOU fucking skin of fuckingness. "Oh look, a razor!" it cried, and promptly started to bleed from a million different points.

And it fucking stung man.

STUNG.

My neck looks like I suffer from the freaking Pox right after every. freaking. shave.

In related news: why is it no matter what I do, my father makes fun of how I shave? I don't shave, I shave everything, I shave just the neck beard, I shave out a petit goatee (no moustache), I shave out a full goatee (arguably. it's what I'm currently sporting), I shave out mutton chops, ANYTHING.

THERE IS NO WINNING.
I can put my hands in my head, and I can laugh it in the face.

Dreamer mate, before you get outta the shower, stand under the hot water, then, dont dry your face, start with your cheeks than lip then neck/chin as this will give the most time for the hot water to soften the hair and make it easier to shave. Also go slowly. I used to get lots of irritation and cuts shaving, now it happens very infrequently and usually because I'm in a hurry and being careless.

That assumes I have hot water.

At my house, water is "medium" at best.

...Also I do know how to shave...Though I only recently learnt long stroke = best stroke.

...Edit: to be fair, me cutting myself is far less likely when I shaved at my dorm. Burning my face and/or hands and/or the razor itself, however, MUCH more likely

Apparently, last night he had another stroke, but more serious. Whilst the last one left him with blurred vision and numbness, this one has rendered him almost blind (which the doctors say is permenant) and bed ridden. My mum is flying out to New Zealand tomorrow to help.

I want to ask her if she wants me to come, even though I can't afford it, because I know her and my aunt will need help with my 14 year old and 9 year old cousins. But I also know that I'll be told no.

I am not in a good place today.

Update; feeling better. Spoke to my boss, who's a psychiatric nurse, and he explained a lot about the physiology of strokes, which helped.

And when I got home, me sister said my uncle has spoken to my stepdad and is a hell of a lot better than yesterday, and there's a good chance he'll be out of the hospital by Friday.

But he's still very weak.

I have an electric beard trimmer.

Electric shavers are expensive if they are to work. I've had a few sub $150 ones, and they all were worse at shaving than a two blade disposable.

Also, that's good news Drinnik. Strokes can be scary.

Just do what I do: Never shave, ever. I have had a righteous beard since 2002. You'll still get made fun of, but you won't look like you got your head stuck in a blender. Plus, it makes you look bigger so you can scare off predators.

If you can grow a decent one, a beard is the way to go. Trimming every month or so is much lazier than having to shave often.

Except I can't grow a beard well, and I'd still have to shave the righteously awful neckbeard, which is the part that bleeds, and I can't grow a full beard because of work.

Dreamer, you can try a few things;
- better razors (not two-blade cheapo disposables)
- different shaving lubricant (try better/different cream, shave oil, or the old 'mug and brush' style.
- styptic pencil
