Anyway.
For those still in the dark, some time ago I became lucky enough to fool a wonderful woman into believing I'm worth spending time with. Silly, silly Trixy. Here's hoping it sticks.
This is all Desert Bus's fault, by the way. Curse you selfless children's charity and hilarious internet comedians!
Actually I'm pretty sure it was alcohols fault. Desert Bus was more of an observer.

While that is true, I'm mainly going by people that I remember as "regulars". I'll add it to the list, though.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
While Kaiserin hasn't been around much lately, we did meet exclusively because of this site.
She does want to come back and spend more time here, she is just so worn down by her job she doesn't feel like engaging in much more than games or TV when she gets done. Something I am perpetually trying to mitigate, but still... the distance between I and she makes that tricky.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I mostly said nothing because it was annoying.
In unrelated news:
I'm finding the distance between aubergine and I more strenuous than usual, and a large part of that is my desktop is at home, and therefore I can't really play any multiplayer games at the moment.

Whoa, that page filled up fast! Anyway, thanks for the tips guys. I'm gonna put myself out there and see what happens. I don't really have much to lose, right?

More precisely, you won't gain anything if you don't try to gain anything in the first place

She is added to the list, and hopefully I will remember to add the two of you in the future, when the next relationship update happens.

I'm in a relationship with another forumite, but that was a pre-existing fact when we both joined, so we don't really count.

That's also why I'm not counting Dreamer&Auber, or Zyxst&Empath (though they did meet on a Monty Python Usenet board, which is pretty close).

I seem to remember a relationship between two guys from here actually. Didn't they post picture in "this thread is so gay"?

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
Is it just me or everybody else hate it when the friends and family of the other are all like
"[name] and you are going to get married and have kids"
then a moment later another text of
"OMG YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE 11 KIDS!"
"I can't wait til you get married blah blah"
If I wanted your goddamn opinion on what I'm going to do with my relationship, I'd ask for it.
Or is it just me who takes all this crap to seriously.

It's extremely annoying, and it really doesn't matter if it's the partner's friends and family, mine or complete strangers. It's always annoying. Especially when it's insinuations that sounds like you're supposed to feel guilty it hasn't happened yet.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I actually feel that is I brought a girl home that my parents would create a massive fuss. Not in front of her, maybe, but they would treat it as a big deal. Frankly, I hate that. Maybe I'm just paranoid, because my sister has had many boyfriends with minimal fuss, but then I'm not really like my sister.
That's why I like Uni. I can do what I like, with whoever I like, and if I get in a relationship, the parents don't have to know until the holidays, which should be plenty of time to get over myself.

I, too, hate it when others become excited and happy for me being in a relationship.

It's not so much that they're happy, it's that they feel the need to express so much, as if your being in a relationship is some form of divine miracle, or that you should get married and have kids as soon as possible.

There is excitement, and there is pressure.
Despite my plans to always be with aubergine, I need to supress the desire to punch people who say "when you two get married you'll..."

I'm single, and I STILL hear comments like "when you have kids" or "when you're married".
I'm not even sure I WANT either of those things, and I'm annoyed that people (usually family) make those assumptions.

Yup. "When you have kids," is something I HATE hearing. From my mother. Who likes to say it.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I don't really want to start a thing, but; what I keep hearing from all of my friends that have kids of their own, is that it utterly changes their outlook on life. So I don't think you can really judge them until you have kids of your own that are that age.
Is it really so bad to express hope?
I know most of you were just expressing annoyance. I get that.
