LRR Ping Pong Tournament on UStream - place yer bets

Posted to the blog by Tim. LRR will be hosting a tournament to determine the best table tennis player on the moon. Better yet, they're live streaming it. I'm exciting and I'm sure you are too. I love watching the Crew just hanging out and even more so since they won't be trying to track donations while they're having fun.

As soon as we get a list of likely combatants, we can start setting odds and/or placing Forum wagers. Bananafish let sdhonda choose his avatar as part of an impromptu forum contest. If we put our heads together, we should be able to come up with similar ideas. Thoughts?

James is the early odds-on favorite. Do we necessarily have a reason to believe this to be true or is it the general feeling? Why can't Tally have an uncle that was tutoring her from a young age and has been routinely destroying the guys for weeks now?

Anyway, here's a thought. Can someone either Crew (Paul?) or forum put together a little Quick Poll widget in anticipation of the event? I don't know how many people will be watching, but it would be really fun to let the betting public decide who the favorite is right before each match goes live. Something as simple as:

Voting would be closed 1-2 minutes before the game so that the players know how much or little faith the fans have in their ability.
