So hey, this is new. My body seems to be going to keep me up all night with heartburn.

This has never happened, even before I had regular access to heartburn pills; it would keep me awake for a while, and then let me sleep. But tonight? It just keeps coming back, every half an hour or less.

And it is FUCKING IRRITATING.

What to do when your best friends girlfriend has crossed you the wrong way...

WHAT DO.

Oh, yes - please 'help' me by sending me on a break and taking care of the rest of the cooking needed to set up the hot case...and then DO NOTHING with the logs for all that hot food.

Never mind that our deli is having a recurring issue of said cooking logs not being properly completed to the point that EVERY DAMN STAFF MEMBER HAS A WARNING LETTER ON THEIR FILE because of it. Never mind that YOU'RE A DAMN MANAGER; please help me more, since *I'm* the one that will get chewed out for incomplete logs, and leave me to come back from break and have to GUESS what the cooking times and temperatures were for all these things, and essentially FALSIFY LEGAL DOCUMENTS.

Yes, please - more; I just LOVE it.

I have a week-free trial of TERA online.

"Why are you venting?" I hear you not cry.

Well, the 'week long trial' starts when you create your account.

"OK and...?"

You can only start to download the client after creating and verifying your account.

"Oh..."

And the download takes about 18hrs in normal person's connection to download. You are basically having a week trial, but you lose a minimum of 1 day to download the fucking game.

So my landlord and one of my roommates have been getting into disagreements of late as to whether he's payed his rent or not (as best I can tell, the landlord told him to give the rent to his kid if he's not home, and the landlord's kid has been stealing it). Today the shit fully hit the fan, so my roommate's out of here as soon as possible. While this won't raise my rent, it's still problematic as A) I liked him as a roommate, and B) if the landlord takes him to court to collect on the alleged rent, all of this building's code violations will come to light. Best case there is that I lose the kitchen (seeing as how the stove "mysteriously disappeared" right before the building inspector showed up around Thanksgiving). Worst case, I'm looking for a new place to stay as well.

Well, found out today that the mother of one of my best friends (and herself a good friend of mine and zyxst's) is in the hospital with pneumonia.

If you can't understand how to use a program, maybe you shouldn't be grading work in a course that is about using said program. Gah.

The legal requirement is 11 hours between shift. There's 11 and a quarter there. Which is evil but allowed.

Lets me kill the mood by saying.

My kitty is very ill. She is 19 and has liquid in the lungs. However her breathing is incredibly laboured.
She has stopped purring and doesn't speak any more.
She is a very unhappy kitty.
I'm also sad because it's winter and that the 3 humans in this house are often out of the house due to commitments.

I fear my cat will die alone and cold.

What do I do now...?
And for the record I seriously didn't expect her to die tonight. I was living in my fantasy land where the magic vet would see her tomorrow morning and she'd be back to her old arthritic self...

I don't think anyone can answer that for you, since everyone is different. Some people might want to reflect on happy memories or mourn, while others will want to just distract themselves until the pain isn't quite so fresh.

I went through a similar experience a while back. A cat that had been in my family since I was less than a year old was very old and sick. I think he was almost seventeen at the time, and he'd been having problems with this and that for the last couple of years. We'd always worked on the philosophy that we'd do what we could for him as long as he seemed to be enjoying life. Towards the end, he was really frail, we had to apply cream to his ears twice a day, and it was pretty clear he was getting tired of it all, so we decided to have him put down.

Unfortunately, only myself and my Dad were home when the time for the appointment came, and since I knew there was no way I'd be able to handle going along to the vet, I had to pack him into his cage. He'd never liked car trips, so forcing him into it and putting him in the car was one of the toughest things I've ever had to deal with (which, as a side note, I am incredibly thankful for, since I know my life could be a whole lot worse).

The part that seemed hardest at the time, however, was that ten minutes after that, I had friends coming over to play D&D. I was the DM, so I had to get my composure. I took a few minutes, and then went down and started setting up. It was tough at first, but once I was focused on it, it was enough to keep me going for the rest of the evening, and even enjoy myself.

I don't know if saying all this will help at all, but reading about your cat over the last couple of months, and now this, really brought the whole thing back. Sorry if I'm just making this all a bit more depressing. =/

I just want comfort to know that this is normal to feel like this. I have friends who have lost relel=tives. So I am aware in the scheme of humanity, my cat doesn't matter. But she does to me.

Tomorrow I have a driving lesson (my second ever one) and then I need to do my Homework for my Welsh course for the next day.
On Tuesday I need to have applied to at least on job and go to the Job centre.

I just can't...

It hurts, Merry. It really, really hurts. That's normal and rational and you're allowed, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. Take the time you need. Don't be afraid to be upset about this. Complain all you want in here, and we'll be here for you. Losing a cat is really hard, especially when you've grown up with them. You won't get over it in a day, and that's okay. Don't try to push it off to do something else. You're allowed to feel it. <3
