Sable!
Sable!
I clicked the link in your sig, Sable, and I think you should send me the huge version of the brige over the waterfall.

Woah, I did not expect this.
Cake, give me an email and I can send you the .raw photo (You will need a program that can handle Canon .CR2 files - Photoshop can, IIRC) or I can send you a huge JPEG/TIFF/etc.
I did take all of those pictures, thanks! My camera is a Canon EOS 30D with a 28-135mm zoom lens with image stabilization. I also use a Bogen-Manfrotto 3021 tripod with a B-M RC2 ballhead when I need tripod shots - it's a very, very good tripod, and I -love- my camera.
I don't own a ND filter for my camera as yet - these were all taken with nothing more than a lens hood and a UV filter.
For the waterfall pictures, they're actually not all that long-exposure - the longest is about half a second. I set up the tripod, latched the framing down, then gingerly pushed the shutter release. I had the aperture set way, way, way small - like f/22 or f/16 so that the long exposure wouldn't fry the image.
Anyway guys, thanks!
I'm just getting started with all this, it's really fun to hear that people like it. I shoot everything in .raw format so that I have an idiotically high quality backup of anything that gets post-processed, so if there's any pictures folk want in massive resolutions (8.2 megapixels), just ask and you will see them.
I have some more pictures of some kittens at the local humane society that I haven't put up yet. I'll do that soon.

Ma email is [email protected]. May I have a huge jpeg version? I wouldn't be able to do anything with the .raw.

Okay you cats and kittens, since:
1.) This file is too huge to email easily due to the crap I have for broadband and
2.) More than Cake seem to want a comically large version,
I present to you...A LINK!
LOOK BELOW FOR LINKS NAO PLZ
Be ye warned:
1.) This file is 3522x2348 pixels, the 8.2MP native resolution.
2.) Due to the low aperture, fairly high (500) ISO, and other factors, there is some noise present in the 100% blowup. I don't have any good denoising tools, but am hugely open to suggestion.
3.) The file is very, very large.
4.) As I haven't ponied up for an L-series lens yet (But that day is fast approaching), it is not as sharp in the 100% blowup.
Nevertheless, I'm really happy you guys like it so much! Cheers!

The silhouette of a hanged corpse, danging from one of the trees in the distance.
Sometimes you just can't have a hanged corpse ready, y'know?
Also, thanks, Sable, I was going to see if i could get it printed up and framed for the living room, if that is ok with you of course.

Sable, I think you should consider taking up Cake's offer.
More often than not, signed first-run prints at art shows, especially good ones, can often gather bids and such for hundreds of dollars. If you don't want to be a full time artist, just do it as a hobby. Hobbyists are rarely motivated by money, which gives them more creative control, which translates into better art and more offers.
If it doesn't turn into a multi-million dollar hobby right away, it's a couple bucks more than you had before now.
