It's looking good! Bit jelly of people who can get facial piercings, but at the same time just get happy seeing it, ya know? Probably weird, but oh well. I live through others!! xD

Thanks! To be honest, I'm in grad school, and this could mess up my chances in getting the advisor I want, but y'know what, metal in my face doesn't affect my ability to do the work, which they've already seen by my admittance and my first quarter. So anyone who's going to judge me on this can go to hell
(Also I've wanted it for a decade, and finally was like "I'm gonna do what I want!". I can't wait to show my family, my sister's reaction was great, but she's sworn to secrecy until I see them this weekend.)

Yeah, it's dumb when people judge someone's ability to work on if they have piercings or tattoos. Remember that we had a substitute kinder garden teacher who was a punk rocker. He had tattoos, an army of piercings, one of those really thin and tall mohawks, and would always be wearing a white t-shirt and leather vest with black trousers. I thought he was the coolest fucking thing EVER when I was a kid, especially since he was so nice!

Re: The "Post a picture of yourself" thread
I don't like the look of these types of lip piercings, personally. Not just you, but Fayili and anyone else as well. Now, I have my preferences, and y'all have yours, and I'm not going to be presumptuous enough to tell anyone else whether they can or cannot get them. But just... I don't like them, and that's me.
I think I know why I don't like them, as well, but I don't think there's anything I can do about it. I think my brain is just wired for symmetry. That's why lip piercings in the center don't bother me as much. And maybe were someone to get another piercing on the other side, maybe it would look better to me? I don't know. This might also be why I'm not too fond of the single-sided undercut hairstyle that's been all the rage lately. I think it looks goofy and makes people look like Zorg, the villain from The Fifth Element.
However, with regard to piercings, tattoos, hairstyles, and other body adornments, you do you and I'll do me. Whether I like something or not should have no influence on your decision. Just know that I'll be honest about what I think.
And I'm with Deedles: I don't care if you have piercings, tattoos, or whatever, with regards to your ability to work or your worth as a person. If they do not impede your functionality, they're fine in my book.
That said, there are some limits. An example would be a nurse who was at my grandfather's nursing home. She had 4-inch fingernails, all styled up and everything. That type of thing is a problem. She couldn't put on gloves, and therefore, would not directly care for the patients. She couldn't even type up her charts. That's something that impedes functionality, and I won't put up with something like that.

There may be better sources of selfies, but they don't have... this hat.

It's been a while -- here's my accidental and unintentional Gorton Fisherman costume from a few months back.

I would say that you are spot on with that feeling, because you look very pretty!

Re: The "Post a picture of yourself" thread
There is a difference between being pretty and Feeling pretty.
I know I'm pretty, but most times I don't acknowledge it or feel it. Yesterday after my shower, I felt super attractive. Like "DAMN Girl, you hot" feeling. Think of the Fresh Prince reacting to a pretty girl. That kind.
It doesn't happen often, but when it does, share it. Women are showered with so much media regarding their looks, usually negative (too fat, too skinny, flabby tummy, etc). It's always good to show off when you feel good about yourself. Men too actually.

I do like it when I catch myself in the mirror and I think "dayum".
I'm not vain, but I do know if I find if I dislike how I aesthetically look, it do feel less happy.
I'm just an artist. I gain pleasure from things looking aesthetically pleasing. Myself included.

So, I finally took another picture of myself, since I recently cut my hair and got new glasses. It's bad quality, but I can't get much better with my phone.
