Geeks With Issues Running Desert-Bus Inspired Marathon
I've posted about this to the blog already, but I thought I'd mention it here too. I've been watching the Geeks With Issues guys play their 24-hour Desert-Bus-Inspired Oregon Trail marathon. I've been chatting with them and they're cool guys. You should too!
Check out their feed if you get a chance .

HA!
I logged on just as they said "We're getting a lot of people from Desert Bus right now" and I looked at there chat room, and there's Shandi, Evil_Jim, Jer, Tally, Kkeif, Pirate Jack... oh you crazy people.
This is pretty awesome.
Also, this reminds me we really should get on that live LRRcast idea...

It's taking a lot of effort not to be making constant Desert Bus references. However, I did find out from them that it does not take 8 hours to get to Oregon.

You got a snake bite right before we got attacked by Injuns, but you're ok for now.
Edit: well, I got beat. But I ninja'd back a few times in the chat, so it's all good.

This is their first event, and their normal activities are at a public access TV channel and they're doing it for the children. Also, they're doing two challenges including a Twilight one, and are up for suggestions.
I've definitely not heard of them before, so I think I may have found a site to look through. To any tabletoppers, they started out as a DnD radio show.
Also, Matt just got cholera and died, Morgan just got typhoid, Kathleen broke an arm and got typhoid and I got something and died... all in one move. Wow.
Edit: Apple2e game, and they're using an emu.

You're playing along at home?
Edit 1: This isn't some crazy multiplayer edition of a 1980's DOS game, is it?
Edit 2: Comodore game?
