Re: Disney buying up Marvel
The buyout still needs shareholder approval before it's completed, so there might be some resistance. But, I doubt there'll be enough to halt the process. Oh well, let's just hope that they leave Marvel's IPs alone, otherwise this would be a very stupid move for Disney.
It's interesting to note that Disney is gaining control of 5,000 Marvel Characters. Firstly, I didn't know Marvel had that many. And, given that number, I wonder if there'll be an accounting of who they're not getting the rights to.

It worked well with Pixar so why not? Really hoping for crossovers. Of course not any serious ones. Maybe a fighting game?

Pixar, though, was already producing family-friendly properties for Disney. Marvel . . . not so much, to my knowledge.
Although, Marvel publishing an Incredibles series could be seriously badass.

I suppose what really worries me is what this means for the Marvel superhero movies...

Re: Disney buying up Marvel
I think this is a good move for both companies...Marvel has a nearly endless supply of original IP, and Disney has the means and money to make just about any movie they want. No more fighting with douchebag producers that hate fans. And even though Disney has made its fortune on the family-friendly business, I think they have to ability to transition to a more mature focus when it comes to Marvel IP...Look at Pirates of the Caribbean, yes it was mostly geared towards family, but the number of people dying and more twisted imagery only needs a little splash of blood before being considered mature.
The games section leaves much to be desired I find, but I think if Disney knows what is good for them, they'll use Marvel's contacts within the industry to bolster their own development teams. Cause really all they've got going for them is Blackrock Studio.

Re: Disney buying up Marvel
Though, to be fair, Marvel has done well enough on its own to screw up their IPs.
I'm talking about Wolverine and the X-Men. A TV series that is much closer to the 90s X-Men we all know and loved than that thing they did after the first x-men movie with everyone in school. However, they made ONE HUGE FUCK UP.
Wolverine is the team leader (ok...) and CYCLOPS IS THE ROGUE LONE WOLF.
What the hell?

If the hulk starts singing to small fluffy animals... who's for a murder/suicide pact?

So if the 70+ year war between DC and Marvel I guess DC wins?
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

Fantastic Four?

DC was bought out by AOL/Time Warner ages ago.
On another note, this can only confirm the "no comic book movies rated above 12" thing they were going on about a while a go.

Mass murder/grave desecration.
Walt Disney's head will, literally, roll.
