Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
Okay, just watched a few episodes of the newest season of Doctor Who. As someone who has BARELY seen any episodes, I have to say, I liked it. For me, the biggest draw is that Matt Smith plays the Doctor so incredibly dorky that it's cute and endearing.

As well as Fez's. [right way of saying that?]

The magic of a spell-check informs me that the Queen's English plural of 'Fez' is, in fact, 'Fezzes'. Apostrophes are never used to make a word plural.
An engine that both consumes and creates malice.
Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
A quote:
So sadly I do not think the fez is returning.
Beth Willis, Doctor Who producer wrote:Steven mentioned the fez to Piers and I before he even wrote it. He said, "I’m thinking of putting Matt in a fez in episode 13." And of course Piers' and my jaws hit the floor and went “A fez? You’re kidding me, you’re going to put Matt in a fez? If we put Matt in a fez Matt will never take the fez off. He will want to wear the fez for the rest of the whole series. It will be glued to his head. He’ll be wearing it, you know, with his own clothes. It will be a nightmare.” He said, “No no, I’ve got a cunning plan; as soon as he’s got the fez I’m going to kill the fez.
So sadly I do not think the fez is returning.

Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
I'm a big Who fan. I remember when Survival was on the first time (yeah, I was 6, but it's hard to forget Sylvester McCoy kneeling over the Master screaming "IF WE LIVE LIKE ANIMALS, WE DIE LIKE ANIMALS!" and the whole Les-Yay thing with Ace and the Cheetah woman). I really like new Who too, and I like how it's made the Doctor important again. The "Cartmel Masterplan" of the 80s seemed ridiculous to me, so the Last Surviour of the Time War angle is far more interesting.
Anyway. I think Matt Smith is a brilliant Doctor, and he's different from Tennant. That's what the show needs, for the Doctor to be different in each regeneration. Smith's more of an alien Second Doctor than Tennat's jovivial Doctor. The 5th series was more a celebration of the history of Who than the previous series; The technicoloured Daleks hailed to the Cushing movies of the 60s, the Doctor's outfit was reminiscent of the Second Doctor's, the Silurians harked back the Third Doctor. Hell, the St. John's ambulance logo on the door hasn't been seen since the 1950s.
I never really got the "He's not Tennant" whining that happened when The Eleventh Hour was shown. Of course he's not Tennant, that's the point of a regeneration.
So... yeah, I really enjoyed this series and I'm looking forward to finding out who is behind the explosion of the TARDIS (I'm hoping for the Black Guardian or the Valeyard).

If you saw "The Big Bang", you saw how they did it.
By the way, is River played by the same woman who was on ER for all those years?

Yeah, she is. She also said in an interview she doesn't know who River is, but plays her like she's the Doctor's mother.

I was reading off the text for the wife, and before I'd finished two sentences, I - a lame white male - was sounding like Marla Gibbs.

Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
I'm about a week late on this, but thank GOD that the finale wasn't "hey look, another army of f&%$ing Daleks. Oh no, that's impossible, we're all doomed etc ect, oh wait, pull this switch and they all die, the end."

Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
I found with Davis the line, "These are the (description) Daleks in the universe, and that makes them more deadly than ever," would always appear.
It lost it's charm.
And I love the Daleks, but they became over saturated really quickly.

Re: New Doctor Who (Possible Spoilers)
One thing I am glad of, and a conversation with my sister has just reminded me of this; With Davis gone, there's no chance of Martha Jones coming back, though.
Every other word out of her mouth was though, though. It's like she had a complex, though. And Freema Agyeman is not a good actress, though. It's like she's reading an autocue, though. Like when she gave her speech to the master, though. It was more wooden than the New Forest, though.
Thank fuck she's gone.
But it does mean no more Donna, though.

True Drinnik, but she could still pop up in Torchwood...
