Oh snap.
Also, I knew it'd be Skyrim when I was playing IV and people were talking about the nords having troubles.

If it is like Oblivion, I won't play it. If it is like Morrowind, I will play a thousand hours of it.

Yessssssss!
Consider this signature a museum piece, since I love it and am unlikely to change it ever.

Agreed; and I just rebuilt mine LAST WEEK.
On the plus side, I'll probably just need to upgrade my video card...
Oh, I wanna go on record right now that Bethesda is NOT trying to 'cash in on human suffering' by setting the prospective launch date of November 11th; they're using a catchy and memorable pattern for the date that goes one step beyond the founders of Armistice/Remembrance/Veteran's Day: 11/11/11. I also go on record that someone's gonna get huffy and pissy about the 'disrespect' they're purportedly showing.
(so be ready a year from now when I post naught but 200pt red-bold caps of "I FUCKING CALLED IT!" )

it's an easy prediction to make

Re: Elder Scrolls V
I almost shit myself when they announced this, I thoroughly enjoyed Oblivion and a bit of Morrowind.

Re: Elder Scrolls V
Loved Oblivion, never really had the time to give Morrowind a chance and on the fence with this one. I traditionally make an Imperial warrior when I first play and it seems all Nords from what I picked up.

That would be lame.
Re: Elder Scrolls V
i don't think they've ever limited character selection before, hell even if you picked a dark elf in morrowind they still said you came form a different part of the world.

Re: Elder Scrolls V
I highly doubt it will be Nord only.
Anyway, super excited, loved III & IV. I'll get this for sure.

Re: Elder Scrolls V
You'll probably be helping the dragonborn ala Martin from IV.

Re: Elder Scrolls V
I figured the Dragonborn would be somewhat similar to the Nerevarine from Morrowind, but that could work as well.
Re: Elder Scrolls V
I wouldn't say it would work, I'd be disappointed. That was the big problem with the main quest in IV. You weren't all that important, more just a guy running most of the errands. At least in III, you were the only one who would be able to do it.

Re: Elder Scrolls V
Very exicted for this. I practically lived in Morrowind for a summer. Actually a little disappointed it's not taking place in Summerset Isles, though. Skyrim will hopefully be a little less generic then Cyrodill ended up being, but no where near as...alien as Morrowind.
Also curious about the story. A lot of really world changing stuff happened at the end of Oblivion, and I'm hoping they aren't going to ignore some/any/all of it.

Save that Martin is dead and didn't have an heir so I think there will be a new line of dragonborns, and hopefully you will turn out to be the one (or you go on a quest to create a new line).
And good that they finally went to a new engine

I'll reserve judgment until I get a view of this new engine. Perhaps it will have directional lighting this time?
