I think the Idea is that spawn is the Hub or Central station and there will be as many lines and stations out as possible to help travel. Think how do real life railways work!

But there are many people working on their own railways trying to coordinate so it is a little chaotic right now!

To Pikachaos I have a line that I am building near my stuff and 42inari's stuff. I could run down to where you are at if you like.

The concern I see with turning spawn itself into a central station would be new player friendliness. A less open spawn could mean less idea of where to go to do something on there own, and so on.

Well if not Central Station, then certainly a big one! People always want to travel to and from spawn and easily get to their bases from spawn. To me it makes sense if there are plenty of stations all over the map with lines to spawn.

My iron mining has left me with a modest stockpile. If anyone needs any for rails, hit me up and I'll put it on your tab.

And yes, I'm actually going to document such transfers, but I have no clue if I'll actually call them in later.

Lulz

FYI: I downloaded most of the server today (30GB out of 65GB or so). All that remains on the server are backups that take up most of the space and will NOT be downloaded, and the current world files. All config files, cartos, and whatnot should have been moved to my external hard-drive, and deleted from the main server. On Monday when I shut down the server, I'll just have to download the latest copy of the worlds and we'll be done ;) (Note: I'll be updating my version of the world every so often, just in case HazeNET dies. Still will lose time, but hopefully less than 12 hours.)

So yeah, in case you wondered where the website went...

Hey Fugi,
I know you're probably all tied up with the upcoming server transfer but I was wondering if you could find some time to update the first post of this thread so that the information is up to date, such as:

-- An updated list of server mods, ones that will be running immediately on the new server and ones we can expect in the near future.
-- An updated list of server moderators, as I heard there were some new ones.
-- An updated list of server rules and restrictions i.e. not working with lava, not needlessly extending the map, not being a dumb shit.
-- An updated list of material conversion rates to include dyes and any other new materials.
-- A link to the server donation site and the listing of the donation perks(if we are still doing this).

I know some of this info can be found in the thread already but it would be quite handy to have it all in one place.

Once again I understand you are probably focused on the server changeover right now, but if you could find some time in the next week or so to update some of this info it would be super.

Thanks Again,

I have a suggestion, If you have land with nothing built on it that you want to build something on, put up a few touches, you know, to avoid confusion... yeah. That'd help...

Point 1 we're still working on, and won't know until after Bukkit is up, and could change rapidly. Zeyz is the new moderator, but most people already thought he was anyways (only reason he wasn't earlier was because Fugi and I both kept forgetting that he wasn't). ZFubarz is also an admin now on both servers, I believe. There are no material conversion rates to other new materials, as you can get them normally in-game (we may add the squid ink thingy's to survival at some point in the future, but we haven't decided yet). More information on server donation and stuff will go up when we have the site up and have shifted over to the new server.

EDIT: Oh, and the rules are covered under "don't be a dick", and "don't piss off Fugi". For the record, pissing off Fugi also increases how pissed off I am by an equal amount.

With the server getting ready for change and all the moving I would like to bring back the idea(I hope am not alone in wanting this) of 1 or 2 passive mob weekends a month on server.

I have been told before that I can simply trade for what I need and I am ok with that for ice and the like. However,I need an ungodly amount(if an actual number is needed to prove my point I will provide one) of a few items that I am not going to ask any admins for. Besides, it feels a little like cheating. I am ok with avoiding ruin from creepers but to not gather my own wool & leather feels wrong.

I understand they can be a bother so if a whole weekend is too much I am not opposed to 1 or 2 days a month. I just think it would be a fun shake up for creative. We could even make days of it. I am sure there is a way to launch a chicken from a cannon. Or invent games involving animals that people could play.

The opposition to passive mobs on creative is that sheep, pigs, and chickens are gorram fucking annoying bastards when you're trying to build. AFAIK, there's no use for leather, and I'm will to spawn as much wool as you need for only a token donation at this point, because it is so easy to get normally (plus few try to build entire buildings out of it). If it feels like cheating, just toss me a few extra diamonds. The point of the exchange is simply to ensure that you get the materials for the same amount of effort as it would take to get that amount normally. So long as the effort is put in, it's all the same.

I can't wait to gain the benefits of full donor when the new server+bukkit is up... not that I'm selfish, just that... well, okay I am. Is that such a bad thing?
